Dumb question (perhaps?): Does the CT (and Cockpit) also count as a component? If I kill the ST, does the arm count, too?

Killing blows through CT or head component don't count as component destroyed as it's already a killing blow.

ST component destructions get you the arm component destruction as well if the arm is still active (you also get the remaining damage value of the arm counted towards your total damage).

Just wanted to say "Thank You" to PGI for giving us all of this Christmas stuff. And the MC.

Hello, Doctor Dinosaur and Gasoline... I'm afraid the describing answer presented is incorrect. :o

In my time playing, if I have wiped out the structural health of a given Component, such as the Head or Center Torso, provided certain other items (Engine, Gyros, Cockpit, and/or Life Support) were not blown by a Critical Hit, then it DOES credit the "Component Destroyed" bonus. However, in the case of wiping out the structural health of either Side Torso, it blows off the matching Arm Component WITHOUT crediting the "Component Destroyed" bonus, and the remaining health of the arm was also NOT credited for "Damage Done". In the case of the ST, it sucks, but that's what I've been seeing happen. I've had the luck of killing an I.S. XL Engine Mech just by blowing a Side Torso/Head/Center Torso, and seen exactly ONE "Component Destroyed" bonus returned for the effort.

If you wish to get both of the "Component Destroyed" bonuses for the Arm and the Side Torso, then you MUST strip the Arm off first. If you want maximum effect, strip both arms and one leg first, and then go from there. Do keep in mind that the target Mech could now die at any time with only a granting of four "Component Destroyed" bonuses in total, but less if you just went for the Mech's Torsos directly.

So if I see it correctly, once again bad playing habids are being enforced through an event?
That's:
- Leaving the team to get a solo kill, instead of doing teamwork
- Farming damage ...at the cost of the damage the team has to tank in the meanwhile

I mean, it COULD be worse, and most goals are team friendly, so there's hope.
I'm missing lance formation, LRM destroyed, ECM protected/countered and the like.

I feel that these things are there all the time, they just become more apparently since you're framing it with the event.

Yeah, no need to encourage such behaviour. And with the limited time we have for each goal (and some of us with little time to play) I see myself adapting to this terrible behaviour: "First I'm going to take his arm, then the ST, this makes his heat efficiency crappy so he cannot shoot back while I take his leg...oh, escort failed."
I'm but a sinner.

TBH I find these events easy peasy lemon squeezy. I need only 2 or 3 matches to get the minimum required, but I usually do more until I get 2 wins for 2 mechs' 2x XP bonus. So for that I'm thankful to PGI for these dailies.

Ah... You're aware of Mozilla's mishandling of older users that didn't need their interface turned upside-down then. Yeah, I'm one of 'those' older users. Posted Image

I wouldn't have quite linked a change in MWO's Event Browser that way? Sure, we could use a Master Event Index on the Website Version, but it shouldn't take priority over fixing Long-Standing Bugs with other parts of MWO.

And as for FireFox, Mozilla is trashing everyone's setups with FireFox 57. Frankly, I don't think their Devs deserve to call it FireFox anymore. :(

Was only referring to the FireFox changes, I happen to prefer the new FireFox. I'm not going to comment on the MWO event browser :) .

On that note: FireFox 57 didn't trash my setup. Therefore Mozilla did not "trash everyone's setups with FireFox 57". Proof by example :P .

I got an error message (90 or 95 error code) when I redeemed my advent prize today. I'm not sure if I got the prizes or not. Anyone else get an error message? I was using the in-game event page btw.

You're lucky, then. I'll be losing all but 3 of my large pool of extensions with FF 57+, which is going to make it a hell of a lot harder for me to do anything in that bloody browser. Sadly, things like NoScript don't exist on other browsers, and I'm going to badly miss the older "FF1.5/FF2/FF3.5/IE6"-style of interface, as well as the dozens of things I found helped my workflow. :(

I used the In-Game Event Browser here, and had no issue Redeeming my items. Try and remember how much (MC) you had before you began the Event. Then, compare your current total to the number of MW Advent Event Days that you've completed, and see if the increase adds up. If it doesn't, contact MWO Support without hesitation, like IMMEDIATELY. At this time, if you've completed All 9 Days so far, you should have an increase of 450 (MC) at this time beyond what you began this particular Event with.

Just check stats page (grid at the bottom). No need to remember such things.

I had no idea that things from the new Events System would register there. Thanks for pointing that out. :)

So when will we be able to see the other 12 days of the Advent Event? Day 12 is the last one posted. Will we see FP events for the remaining 12 days?

Thanks PGI.
