What exactly is failing in the numerous crashes that people experience? Is Windows to blame? Is the videocard? If the resource can't be found why is such a problem intermittent and not every match? The same fonts and animations are loaded every single time. I have sent crash reports in for YEARS and nothing ever improves. The error text doesn't even make sense. Which map doesn't support escort? HPG? What map is crater2.

I have been discoing too much recently so I stopped playing. I think it's cause my LAN cable is getting too worn out. Gonna have to replace that.

The error text is a technical thing, not a consumer thing.
It can contain any kind of internal information that only makes sense to developers but not to customers.
For example "crater2" is an arbitrary name (granted a sloppy one) for a map. It might as well be "Rumpelstilzchen" or "Lalaland". It doesn't matter. All that matters is that this string is the identifier for a certain map and a developer who reads the error text will know which map the error occured on.

Don't say the text doesn't even make sense if you have clearly no clue about how things work on a technical level.

edit:
Actually, this is one of the most readable error logs that I have ever seen.
I am no PGI employee, but even I can tell you roughly what the error was:

The UI on MWO is obviously writtn in Flash (*cringe*).
(Note the "<Flash>" and the ".swf".)
Some of the Flash scripts required the Font "Times New Roman".
That font could not be found.

Some animations or part of animations for the Jagermech also could not be found.

In short: there were probably files missing on your system.

The interesting thing as a developer is that stuff not being found causes crashes at all.
This is all very 1980ies like software with unsafe direct memory access and things like that. Since I began working as a software developer, I only ever used languages that properly encapsulate problems in exceptions that can be handled by the calling context instead of just crashing the whole process.
But I guess that's the difference between hacky game development botch jobs and proper business software.

Crater2 is the new map, as far as I can tell

4 were touched on Patch day
islandmetropolis (known to be Crimson City)
rivercity
canyonnetwork
crater2

So...yeah
Some have weird names

Check if you're missing the Jagermech files?
If the common issue is a Jagermech being in the game, you won't see it every match
As for the movie TimesNewRoman...I do not know

Have you done the repair tool (or validate via Steam)?

My Fiancee and me managed to pin point the moment most of Her freezes happen..

it's during the mech power-up sequence.. it's like reactor - online, sensors - online, weapons..... #"$%freeze

99% of Her freezes happen in that moment. Map and game mode not relevant..

Mine are (mostly) either at a similar point, just as the dropship starts to fire its engines, or immediately after the pre-game lobby finishes the countdown.

That's me too, immediately after the countdown ends.

I once had a crash in exactely the second when I hit a DC'ed Mech with a flamer when it was destroyed Posted Image.

the game is completely computer controlled
the extra active computer control is a memory hog
the frame rate drop imo is similar to impedance matching

I had an amazing amount of crashes but when I went to windows 10 64 bit 99% of my problems went away

try windows 7 64 bit or windows 10 64 bit and I bet it will solve a lot of problems

Forgive me for suggesting something you've probably already done but, have you done a complete uninstall reinstall?

On my system, updates and repair tools no longer resulted in a game that worked well.
Started fresh and my game ran infinitely better in a multitude of ways.

Win 7 64bit. I5-2500k, R9 390.

Spheroid- It's probable you have some sort of intermittent software driver / hardware problem with your system. I would do the following:

1. Make sure you have a good backup of your system (just in case)
2. Do a low-level scan of your hard drive
3. Update all of your motherboard and hard drive related drivers
4. Download a memory check tool and do a thorough scan of your system's memory

Assuming you are not having problems with any other apps on your computer, I'm guessing, MWO is probably pushing your system a little harder than anything else and exposing the hardware/driver issue. If none of the above find your problem, updating to a 64 bit version of whatever OS you are running (if that is financially feasible for you) as suggested by someone else may very well solve your problem. The 64 bit versions handle memory more cleanly.

I see you in game occasionally, although I am usually playing my clan account lately (VORPAL PUPPY). Friend me on that account if you have any questions. I am usually on for at least a few matches every couple days.

I get freezes sometimes only when there are a large amount of missiles around me at any one moment (meaning several hundred in the air).

Yeah you tell those amateurs at Crytek.

That Flash stuff would be Scaleform, included in the engine. People love to blame anything that's slow on Flash, like its some god-like software that can belt through shonky code that would suck in every language.

The crashes people get are usually antivirus/firewall/driver or hardware related. First two are easy, just fully uninstall them and use windows defender for a while and see if they stop. Drivers can be a *****. Hardware nearly impossible to diagnose sometimes, unless your graphics card is literally melting and giving you artifacts.

Run repair tool often and load MWO off a SSD to avoid loading error crashes.

Just don't defrag if you're using an SSD instead of a HDD - BAD TIMES!
