Not sure where else to put it, so i'll put it here. A suggestion to the dev (developer) team: Permits/Licenses. You should be able to buy them to allow you to use IS or Clan mechs as the opposing faction. For balance reasons, maybe you'd have to buy them for each indivisual mech, and they may cost more or less depending on the class and chassis.
Example
- Timber Wolf Prime - Inner Sphere License - 1500 MC
- Catapult C1 - Clan License - 1250 MC
- Raven 4X - Clan License - 300 MC
As it stands, quite a few people don't bother buying half of the mechs in the game, due to being a loyalist, and playing almost exclusively in faction play matches. If a license system was put into play, it would make things more interesting, and certainly give the devs more money to allocate into resources to further update and enhance the game, while also opening up more gameplay possibilities.
Just a random side note: Personally, i'd probably spend WAY more money than i should, making the perfect Clan Wolf Catapult, and it would be glorious! 0w0

A Suggestion.

This literally defeats the purpose of FP. Also, no clan player will ever buy IS "permits" outside of those who will do it for fun, thereby not very profitable.
Then you have those IS purists who would rather take a Rakshasa than a Timber Wolf. But having these "permits" as MC only, only benefits those with cash to blow or big units with a bunch of MC from winning planets. It honestly would just be solo/group queue with respawns, more so than it already is now.

a better idea would be to allow different pilot profiles on the same account
so you dont have to have multiple accounts

Sorry, but I think the number of players remaining for whom this is an issue has waned to the point of being irrelevant to PGI. The normal state of FP would seem to suggest that not many folks are concerned with this anymore and the VAST majority of the remaining FP population play as mercs. Plus allowing some of the more quirk laden IS mechs to use clan tech (as one small example) would just add to the nightmare that is balance in this game.

We have been saying that PGI would be best served with "player partitions" in a single account.....for a large variety of reasons; and, if there was a non-MC way to charge for a "new partition", I'd be for that !!! I'd like to have an IS, a Clan and a Mercenary account that share the same log-on but have seperate finance and experience registers......
A great idea that I'm not sure why MWO/PGI has not even brought up or asked about?
