This explains why my ping to the Oceanic server is about 40ms higher than my ping to the NA server. I have been wondering about this. Thanks for the info.

Looks like it's up now. Just had a match with a ping of about 120 from Perth.

MWO OC Servers are in Singapore. They have always been and have never been moved (yet).

From various posts it seems PGI were testing the AU server and only showing in Mechlab, was a lower ping.
If you connected to a match - it was still on Singapore server and normal pings to it.

So in effect, nothing has changed at all if your "normal" ping to Oceanic server in Singapore is 200ms+.

Now there might be a new cable break that is yet to be logged. That would be an entirely different issue.

Looks like there's a cut further north between HK and Vietnam which might impact pings if you're routing the long way (which some of the eastern states ISPs might be doing?). Also a Vocus cable cut in Sydney which is reported as causing issues for routing to NZ/USA but might cause problems locally also.

Post patch the servers are in Sydney though, no?

Yeah I noticed a jump before the match to SEA.

And yep servers are AU.

But the data center is routing SEA traffic via the US... So where we had ~120-230ms to SEA. SEA is getting 300-400ms to AU. :(
