Well, it looks like one ugly mo-fo.

The cockpit is offset to the side, like Summoner, Orion, Thunderbolt, etc. -- Not judging, but i did not know that.

It's right torso is one big wall, and the arms have this weapon pods that increases hitbox like Timber-Wolf, i bet meta-hardies won't put missiles on that if they can just PPC or Laser the hell out of it. Even worse that it's apparently a weapon bay-door when missiles, not the same vein as the Archers but still it looks like it's a liability.

Armor quirks seems decent, something i'd expect from it, but not having much weapon quirks or just quirks in general is kind of strange to see in an IS mech for me.

Those are my thoughts so far.

The five-laser variant is 100% unquirked for absolutely no good reason. PGI is still terrified of IS laser vomit, even on a chassis like this.

The RT doesn't have enough quirks on most of the variants. +5 structure isn't going to cut it. And really, both arms need some kind of buff instead of almost always just the right arm (left is unquirked for several variants).

Overall the quirks on this mech are just all over the place. We like to make jokes about dartboards on this forum a lot, but if any mech was quirked using a dartboard it would have to be the Hellspawn.

The reinforcement missile variant actually looks like fun - but yes, I don’t want to get in melee range of an SRM boat.
I’m hoping for some MRM love, and hopefully some liberal use of cover to keep my torsos intact.

And PGI hopes to sell more of these?

There'd better be some amazing announcement concerning tech base changes at MechCon, else they should pass the pipe.

Well, the inclusion of a missile bay door is nice. And here I thought that they had become lostech.

I liked the Hellspawn early on in Mechwarrior 4 but in this game it definitely feels mediocre.

It looks like total garbage and it will probably turn out to be total garbage.

All in all it's just another mediocre piece of **** pumped out by pgi 10/10.

I am, like you should be, aware that at least SOMEONE from pgi reads these forums. The least you could do is fake an attempt at constructive criticism.

Much like the Uziel, if it turns out bad then I'll complain about it until it gets better quirks but play it anyway because I'm apparently a masochist and a hopeless nostalgic. Missile doors also make me happy. I know they only complicate an already problematic design, but... damn it, they're cool, and that counts way more than it probably should with me. Putting a honkin' big flippy-flap on a 'Mech I already like the look of is a sure-fire way to make me be stupid with my money.

Sigh... I've only myself to blame.

I dont see what this does, that the Vindicator already does at IS's 45 tons.

Missiles? You don't really have the tonnage to run it well. And youll get pitiful backups.

Rocket barrage? Hope you like getting your arms and torsos shot off.

6E? You're gonna get maybe 1 or 2 LPL depending on your crits left after endo and engine choice. So you're gonna be running hot constantly.

I dunno. This one looks like the IS's **** like the Phoenix Hawk before it,and the Clans Black Lanner.

Hopefully someone who ponied up will post up what the hitboxes are on this, so we can see if the lopsided armor quirk is justified.

We’ll never get that from the devs.

Yes, the artwork used in the store page is looking at it from the best angle, from any other angle it's a plug ugly stumpy robot

While likely not a “game changer” in the way certain mechs have been...I have a feeling that some creative players are going to figure out a couple of niches that this will do very well in. I could obviously be wrong....but I pre-ordered this because it brought a couple of ideas to mind of things it could do that nothing else really could. Time will tell...

It's not the prettiest mech, but it's small, which will help it's survival a little. We'll see how the hit boxes work out.

the 8P with the 5 missile hard points will be the first one I try out.

My wife's first multiplayer in MW4 I got her in a Hellspawn with a T-bolt and LRM's (very little armor) for a 2v2 on the Coliseum map. She got accused of hacking in her very first game! Ah, good memories, almost enough nostalgia to make me think I might buy an MWO Hellspawn for c-bills one day.
