What I don't like, is the originals, as they don't add anything. They don't check mechs off the list, and there are PLENTY of mechs to check off the list that people want... so why bother wasting a monthly release on an original made up mech?

Maybe. Maybe not. A couple years ago I had a T-Shirt designed for an event. The shirts cost me $7 USD each for an order of 50. They were of very high quality and I still have two of them which are worn regularly and look new. PGI is selling these shirts for $30 each and expect about 500 attendees. Alex normally designs Mechs that sell for $20+ each. If PGI managed to get a T-Shirt deal near what I got then they could potentially pull at least a $20 profit on each shirt. It does not seem to me like a potential estimated $10,000 makes no sense. As I understand it, PGI cannot use a BattleTech Mech image on merchandise so if they want a Mech image on a shirt then they would have to design an original Mech to use for that purpose. The question of why they would obscure it for the photo is, admittedly, an indication that it might be a release they do not want previewed.

I am not looking for an argument. I simply proposed an alternative to the doom and gloom that some seem to feel about another PGI original Mech creation.

Either way, we will know in two days.

Honestly with those missile pods I'd rather if be a homebrew than the Crusader that some people are pointing to, other than it not being the Crusader I don't care what it is.


Which of course means it probably is the Crusader, because there were quite a few people that were pissed it wasn't last year.

I do hope I'm wrong and it isn't, but I feel the foot steps of doom.

Yep. I know people want it to be the Crusader, but from what little we can see of the unidentified mech, it does not look anything remotely like that. Some think it looks humanoid, but I'm not even sure of that, either. Could easily not be. Still leaning towards a PGI-Creation.

As long as it isn't another ammo dependent mech like huggin or oxide I'd be interested in it if it is a light. The worse thing of being ammo depended is you could have done more damage,kills or won a match but you just don't have any left.

Id rather have new maps better game modes and a reason to play anything but quick play.

Could really careless who makes the sodden mech since either way it's all fictional regardless.

I think these analyses of the pixelated images are cute as hell. No sarcasm. Reminds me of the books about UFO's I read as a kid, with people arguing whether it's a hub cap or a mothership.

I don't mind if turns out to be an original. I think it's better if BattleTech continues as a living franchise instead of just revising 1980s designs.

The Anubis only has missiles in protruding and very characteristic side torsos though, and I don't see the fox ears.
