Much of the rapid tactical circular flanking yesterday reminded me of a benny hill show...

We all know this is going to happen, the smart players as soon as they see it get into a position to take advantage of it.
Lights and mediums can afford to take positioning risks as they usually can get out of trouble. Heavies and assaults have to play smart, know the map and position accordingly. Unfortunately many inexperienced players think heavies and assualts are the answer to not dying as fast.
Answer: learn the maps, use a fast medium or light if you learning as you are not expected to carry the group. Dont wander off on your own unless its an obvious advantage. Watch the dam mini map to see where you team mates are seeing mechs.

PRESS R when you see a enemy mech with a unfilled triangle.

When a stealth narc-ing commando with one spl damages the entire enemy team more than the rest of the team it's time to log off for a few days and spend time with your other games.

Now I have to vent as well...

my team got rolled and I saw that our 3 assaults sat somewhere off. I mean why move when you have no firing solution on anyone? After I got drowned in red I spectated from an Awesome's cockpit and he had 7 medium lassers as weaponjry and chain fired them...on Polar.

I am sorry, but this belongs in the category of being mentally challenged.

Now rolls do not surprise me anymore. I mean, why not take an assault mech's slot and give it the weaponry of a light mech and then chainfire it while you charge the enemy (after 1/4 of the team died miserably because the assaults simply decided to camp)?

Oh, good grief..... Let me think here.......semi-final match for this years MECON championship......hmmm, three SNV meta lrg laser boats sitting on top of a hill in Cayon, in the open, not moving and sniping at extreme range? For minutes and minutes and minutes and add the pop-tarting Gyr's that elevated in the same place all match long..... Really, we're going to say that "standing in one place" is only a noob issue??? They are so lucky PGI has nerf'd LRM's into obsecurity......because they'd have been severely damaged in just a few minutes of that silliness......

Good grief......the best and the worst do the same thing and everybody in the middle complains. Such irony.

Not to mention PGI nerfed strikes into pathetic tickling feather dusters.

I think now I know who were complaining about LRMs and strikes in the first place. Posted Image

Enough said.

Edit: PGI needs to find a way to bring Long Toms into Quick Play. <maniacal Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image>

Had to OMG rage quit earlier. My own dunce moments aside, kept getting paired with some very special individuals. Match after match. You know those matches where A. They are in a pristine assault mech at the end with a gigaton of ammo still, B. Just go an cower without actually sharing armor and then proceed to run out of the map, or C. Absolutely no ability to read the map and discern enemy movement aside from the red square that is in front of them.

Top of the cake today was when I was in a ppc warhawk and proceeded to get cored out by an ice ferret within the first minute of the game. Very very dumb and definitely my fault. Finished with 41 damage. D'oh. There goes my average lol.

Last night was pretty bad, not sure what that was all about.
Enough bad that it stands out to remember.

Usually when i notice that I have to start taking out metamechs to compensate. Even then though, you can only do so much in a HBR or deathstrike when the whole enemy team is rushing you.

Or when you go up against the Rando-premade (yet are always together on the same side) of some of this best players. again and again and again lol.

You know, posting on an alt account with zero matches this season and not showing your tier either doesn't make you look tough but rather... ah well.

Good sir, I believe you are sorely mistaken, for just this month alone I've been playing enough to get each day's rewards. But do feel free to issue me a friend request in game at any time and we'll see who's tougher in the arena. :)

Nope, OP. Looks like this every time I play. From my last game tonight, video screen shot. Two prior ones were basically the same. Guess since I'm playing less, somebody else has to CARRY HARDER.

Looks like there are going to be a lot of people not getting the participation trophy level awards for the 100 match score tomorrow night.

Lol this is why I take the assault to use up an assault slot. I'm not a good pilot but at least my builds are not that bad.

Just accept that not everyone will meet your exacting standards.

Some of these don't meet any standards except perhaps being an excellent bottom, assuming you don't mind a foundation of sand.

When you get a player multiple times in your games that can't clear 200 damage and generally dies horribly inside the first minute of contact because they cannot move and fire at the same time...you wonder, unless you understand that the tiering system is not ever about skill, only "plays a lot gets shiny high tier rank, becoming high tier potato". Events bring player count up, but never player quality.

Behold, a tier 1 potato collection.

Spoiler

What's amusing is that before the engine limits were put in, pile-o-medium laser/MPL on 400XL Awesome was actually pretty darn good.

What's sad is that years later and an utter inability to install the big engine that made it good, people still try to imitate it.
