I guess if you have to choose one, Dual AMS.

IMO the 3F is the better choice between the two (slightly better quirks than the 5S imo as well), and I'd go with that one unless you really want the dual AMS.
Also, the STK-3FB apparently has the best overall agility out of all Stalkers, but it has no weapon quirks to compensate, so keep that in mind too. (disclaimer: I do not own a STK-3FB [yet], so idk how useful the agility boost is exactly)
Also also, on the subject of the Misery. I'm not sure it's worth the money at this point, however (thing was a beast back in the day, but I feel like it's fallen behind a bit due to Clans, new mechs, power creep, etc etc). It's still a pretty decent mech, and I've had some fun matches with a heavy gauss on the mech, actually.
In the end though, I would say I prefer the 3F more.
... Now I want to play my Stalkers, thank a lot Mole

Hm. I think this post just made up my mind. Torso twist range is really important for assaults. I also realized that I had neglected to look at quirks and the 3F has an energy heat generation quirk, which given the choice between that and ECM I think I'll take the quirk. 3F it is then. Thank you, everyone.

Both have 10% energy range and also due to lack of actuators it have more crit space.
stk4n also have 5+5% range for larges + 5% less cooldown for energy making it superior to both.
Id rather take 5% less burn and 5% less heat over 10% range though by choosing 3f.

Honestly an ERLL range quirk means very little to me. Often, when building a 'mech that is centered around large lasers, I will forgo the ERLL entirely for a regular LL because I find the heat efficiency to be more valuable than the range. I'm not one of those guys that's going to be sitting at the back trying to snipe people at 1000m. Hell the only 'mech I own that equips a Gauss Rifle is the Night Gyr and I like to get up close and personal even in that.

I wouldn't, not for ERLL. I don't expect to be engaging at 874 meters, I expect to be engaging at 1300+ meters.
The extra 70/140 meters matters there.

It's not an ERLL range quirk, it's a general energy range quirk. I only mention ERLL because that quirk is essential for any IS ERLL boat to close on a cERLL boat.
You do you, I'm not here to critique. I'm only presenting options.

Like i said 4n
5% energy range 5% llas range and 5% energy cooldown.

Cooldown means nothing to ERLL poking except heating up faster. 10% is still more than 5%.
If I bring a 4N, I'm going to just use Large Lasers on it. In fact, I do, and it's pretty good whenever I take it out once in a blue moon. It's just boring to play.

Well I know it's a general range quirk. I'm just saying, I don't really find it all that attractive since I'm probably going to be engaging at medium range anyway even if I was running ERLLs. Extreme range just is not my playstyle.

Glad I could help
I hope you have fun in your new assault.
I'm a pretty die-hard clan player who prefers fast mediums, and yet the Stalker is by far one of my top favorite mechs in this game.
Kinda funny because I used to hate their guts back when they were the premier meta mech

Then I had a dream about piloting one and decided to get a 3F. Enjoyed it so much that I actually dropped a bit of cash for the Misery, lol.
