After all, they show a Nightstar in the MechBay, and that thing isn't exactly a dime a dozen out there. It's hard to say how they plan on implementing it. Maybe asking PGI their plan on mech rollout would be a good AMA question.

Jup, the question would be a good thing.
However the NightStar as miniscule the change is to find one, it was available when Kerensky fled. The Annihilator was created by his megalomaniac son - as no-movement-zone-control Mech.

Annihilator in game would probably be used by the Wolf Dragoons Zeta as in the lore.

Clan intelligence (or lack there of) really screwed up and loaded the 'Goons up with simply everything from a Brian Cache not expecting the IS to be as bad as they found it. Luckily everyone wrote the Annihilator and Imp off as yet another lost SLDF design as Battletechnology was always reporting rediscovered lost mech design like the Titian and Devastator.

A downgraded Nightstar would totally fit the ' Wow, we stumbled upon yet another long lost SLDF bunker' cliche we have seen in multiple BT scenarios from the Kell Hounds to the Crescent Hawks.
