While they are at it maybe they can fix the Arctic Cheater as well and clan LMG spam cause having all those internals bonus for IS are so useful now, and actually fix the base imbalance between techs

and yet people still find a way to kill me all the time in them lol.

I think there is a issue with the JJ's and hitreg when using them.. the damage spreading is not a bug, that is just hitbox design and it being a small mech. A bunch of small mechs spread damage well, this mech is just sorta in the sweet spot of speed and armor to make it more noticeable.

IS AC20 slugs sorta solve the issues with killing this mech :P

I don't doubt there might be some registration and hitbox issues on the legs when using jump jets but until that gets sorted out the legs are still by far the best place to shoot the Assassins.

Nerf MG Mist Lynx first! Oh wait, we can not, because first we have to wait for the release of the Piranha...

it can be a bit frustrating for me since

1) I'm bad at shooting at lights anyway

2) I suck at srm bombers, so when I try to do some LOL HAX games and pwn noobs I just die instantly so I can't even take advantage of it's borkenness

oh well, I don't actually care much

1% was not my assertion.

But since you asked... you got me curious. The closest I could possibly come is looking at how many people are on the FP leaderboard who have more KMDD than me. I'm around rank 2,000 and I self-identify as "avoid FP at all costs." So probably around 2,000 active players? Super rough, obviously, because we're sorting by KMDD instead of match played, but the FP leaderboard only allows us to sort by KMDD, so it's literally our only option.

Now, the current season of the FP leaderboard has been active since July 2017? So we can just compare that to how many players have been "active" in QP since then. Which seems to be about ~45,000. FP would then comprise ~4% of active players.

Again, it's a really really shjtty approximation, but it's about the best we can do.

I am rank 1700 from playing just 120 4v4 matches.

Whereas someone who has only played 10 FP matches is rank 4500

That said, if people would aim for its legs instead of its torsos, you'd find them a heck of a lot less of an issue.

Interesting. I aim for torsos and they seem to die pretty fast.

Legs are too spindly to reliably shoot with anything other than laser vomit, IMO. Better off trying to ST them, both arms are stripped anyway to make room for the double weight IS SRMs. And if you get an ammo crit, they ded.

To my knowledge only a single mech in the entire game has ever had a "true" hitreg problem. That mech was the Raven whose hitbox bounding box does not match visually where the legs are.

More likely you are simply fighting a very small fast moving target that has the armor values of an unquirked, unskilled assault mech forty-five tons heavier than it.

Does anyone have video evidence of this? Over the years pretty much every single skinny fast humanoid mech has been accused of having broken hitboxes. Spider, Commando, Firestarter, Panther, Wolfhound, Cheetah, Javelin, Mist Lynx (yes I'm serious I've seen people call the MLX's hitboxes broken), Stormcrow, now the Assassin...notice the pattern at all?

Even with my extreme unending cynicism of PGI's development, not even I believe that PGI could screw up hitboxes on so many mechs over such a long time period.

I'm pretty doubtful of that claim.

40-ton robots have up to 274 max armor without quirks. The Assassin's armor quirks bring this up to 323 (+49 armor spread across the whole body).

A quirkless 85-ton robot has 526 max armor.

@FupDup: No its true. Armor is typically twice structure which puts a Warhawk at 72 leg armor. The Assassin is (base value +8 quirk) x 1.5 from the armor hardening. I wasn't joking when I said it had assault level armor.

Having a comparison of a mech with full survival tree to one without survival tree is inherently flawed. Either both have it or both don't.

By the way 40-ton mechs only gain 1.22x armor from the tree, not 1.5. No mech gains 1.5x armor from the tree (20-tonners get a max of 1.26x).

Maths:
323 (quirks + base armor) * 1.22 = 394.06 armor, still way below any assault mech

MS can get that kinda score against pug teams, using Crabs. Guess Crabs are OP too then.
