dakka builds require facetime though

and the direwolf sucks at facetime

theres really not any good builds for the direwolf till they fix its barndoor torso

direwolf needs CT buffs and it would be nice to see the direwolf-C variant as well

annihilator is better until then

The issue is that, with Dire Wolf's mobility, that's pretty much the option most of the time. It's hard to disengage when you're already engaged -- god help you if they caught you out of position. So that's what i did, i didn't see the point in making it play like the nimble mechs, i also threw in some LRMs so i can participate indirectly at least. If they made Dire Wolf a lot more nimble than what it is right now, it's a different story, but until then, yeah.

well the annihilators side torsos kindve wrap around the CT like the stalker's

but the direwolf's STs dont, so its CT is completely unprotected

Personally, i had more problems with my Side Torso being blown off than my nose being bopped. Don't know why though, but i think it's probably better to just quirk the entire torso section as a whole.

yeah probably

give the clan assaults structure quirks

and the IS assaults the more coveted armor quirks

id be okay with that

i almost never run 100 tonners as energy boats. heat sinks take up so much space and lasers so little tonnage, and you will never be able to surmount ghost heat limits. dire for me is strictly a ballistics platform, same with the anihilator, and sometimes king crab (though mrm platforms are starting to look promising). atlas cant because its ballistic points are all wrong. the 80-95 range however has a lot of great energy boats, but 100 tonners seem so sub par for the job of boating the lightest weapons in the game.

if you want to use cacs you can get a 60 point ballistic alpha that can fire several times witouht overheating, but its seldom effective.

nope. annihilator is way less glass than the direwolf.

Anni has tons of HP quirks and Dire is literally a Box in shape so the hitboxes are about the worst as well.

So neither of you guys read that I said:

No more glass than any other 100 ton clan assault mech.

Kodiak has high mounts that allow ridge humping which affects survivability. Also, before engine de-sync could roll some damage.

So, maybe you didnt supply enough context? HP-wise, they are the same. Hitbox-wise, very different.

Kodiak ends up getting its CT eaten alive now since it can't roll damage at all, can't torso twist enough to shield, moves as slow, if not slower than, the dire wolf agility wise, and has its CT stick out about as much as the Dire Wolf while being wider. It also can't hill hump effectively anymore due to the low agility.

Besides that though, my context was that the Dire Wolf build given wasn't really a glass cannon at all, in no way does it give up survivability to run the loadout that it runs, its not more a glass cannon than any other Dire Wolf build or any other Clan 100 ton mech. One may potentially say that all Clan mechs are glass cannons compared to the IS side due to their lacking durability quirks and higher focus on burst damage though, so I specified that compared to other Clan mechs the Dire Wolf isn't really abnormally lacking in durability.

Dire wolfs mobility sucks so bad you have no choice and have to have any face time to do damage. Its really hard to do hit and run tactics unless the other team is very bad at playing. This is why the mech isnt that popular cause it goes down fast, way to fast for a 100 ton mech.

annihilators mobility is just as bad

but the annihilator gets used because it has way better hitboxes and quirks

unfortunately PGI wont do anything about the direwolfs hitboxes but it needs better quirks

and they need to unnerf agility bigtime.

I may get shot at for saying this, but it would help if all Assaults had the same size hit boxes regardless the shape. I have 6 DWFs and been messing with some for just like you folks...having fun with weird builds and so.

My two faves are 4XLarge Pulse, 4XMed Pulse.
Second is 4X Large Pulse 2X UAC10's. I used to love my 4XLarge Lasers 4XMed Lasers. But they take way too long to fire now a days.

Don't get me started on the nerfs it's had in the last 16 months, Posted Image

I bought a DWF and was very disappointed in how much of a glass cannon it is.

when the Dire was a king of battle.

I've got four dires with diffrent builds my favorite is still my 2xguass 2x large pulse medium laser and the 4xUac5 builds....

and i put the airhorn warhorn in my dual guass because I like going "GOOOOOOOOAAAAL" Like in soccer when i get a kill because i think that warhorn sounds like the one they have when someone makes a soccer goal in like pro league or something

i wont put that building on dwf

why u dont just pust 6u5 / 5u5+ml or 8u2 on dwf? and put this building on madcat

6u5building almost can do all the things vomit building can do

and also can do what the vomit building cant do~
