When the blood asp comes out, I’d like to be able to add the prongs of the plasma ppc from mech assault 2 for the top mounted hard points, would be a nice bit of fan service especially with the mech assault 2 style collector variant.

Add components that change the appearance of a weapon to another pre-existing model, i.e changing a Cougar's laser arms to the Nova Cat's laser barrels, or an IS-tech weapon to the appearance of its clan counter-part (if applicable.) Hand bars, minor spikes, netting (camo is optional), bags of equipment, ladders, searchlights which disable night and heat vision but can be turned on/off and have a similar effective range, small armor plates, alternative cockpit coloration / tinting / looks (i.e Loyalty Atlas eye, Loyalty Centurion red cockpit), antennae addition or removal, battle damage, banners and cloaks/tabbards (like Teutonic Knights wore over their armor), ammo bins/large containers (no gameplay effect), and other assorted bits and pieces.

If little things like that will get to you, then it might be best to uninstall MWO (or take a break) once the patch hits. Me personally, it won't bother me one bit because I've seen worse with decals. Some are hilarious and some are weird for sure. Besides I care more about FP rather than some silly cosmetics. Also from a lore perspective, it's commonplace in Solaris and the DCMS did this as well, but with flags. Even the IS Resistance Mechs and Clan Invasion mechs did this with geometry. But the best thing to do is ignore it, it's not increasing the enemies health, or giving quirks, it's just there for vanity.

Anubis/wolf and Horus/falcon masks ala ancient Egypt/Stargate. Could also have masks for the other Clans as well. I think a full mask with a snout is required, because ears alone will just make the mechs look like anime cat girls.

In the lore, various Clan Khans and Loremasters would wear these sorts of masks during ceremonies and councils. Phelan famously wore a wolf mask when he bid for Gunzburg.

A wolf mask would allow us to make a proper Grinner hero, as well make an Arctic Wolf mech actually look like a wolf.
