There we go.

So, the 40bx kdk3 is more powerful and more reliably gets kills, but it could cause an arms race and make the game boring for other players. I've lost with it too because I got greedy and ran into a firing line so it's not like it's an an auto win or anything, but it feels stronger than anything I've piloted so far.

My strategy with it is just to use cover to get close to enemies and play it carefully to get the kills (depends on the map and the enemies and a whole lot of things).

For the cravenmech it's faster and more exciting in some ways but doesn't hit as hard (and I'm not a great pilot). However, I think it's more fair.

I usually run out and scout 5 or 6 targets at 1.3km for 18k cbills. Then I retreat with stealth and help with stray lights if needed. Then I flank with lasers/chase down stuff with streaks/other stuff depending on what's needed.

I feel like I should bring the 40bx to help with firepower because there have been matches where most of the mechs were very heavy. However, I worry that lots of people will ramp up the firepower turning it into an arms race. Gonna default to the 40bx for now though.

A Raven that only moves at 97? Even if it has stealth, the Kodiak will generally live longer than a light that barely breaks 100.

That Raven needs some love.

First the BAP doesn't seem worth using with an ECM. You gain a little sensor range and some target info gathering speed but he BAP does not counter ECM when an ECM is installed as well.Ditch it and use the counter mode on the ECM to free up jammed streaks.

Second...Single heatsinks? put in the dubs it will allow you to recover quickly from prolonged stealth armor use in combat as well as improve combat longevity overall.

That little engine needs to go.

I would drop the BAP put in DHS and use a 265XL that allows you to retain the rest of the loadout you already have.

The Raven requires more C-Bills to fix than you possess, so the Kodiak, I suppose.

He is running streaks though. BAP is pretty useless in MWO, but if you're going to use streaks it's not a bad idea to bring it in case of ECM or shut down enemies.

yeah BAP is pretty useless

the one useful thing it does in tabletop (lets you detect enemies behind terrain/buildings) it doesnt do in MWO

in tabletop, a raven can hide behind a building, and use bap to spot enemies on the other side of the building for indirect lrms

would be cool if PGI actually made stuff do what it was supposed to

The Cravenmech is hot garbage and requires millions of cbills to set straight, so the Noob Tube wins by default.

You also run extreme amounts of rear armor, and should fix that. The Raven should literally be running 1 or 2 points. The Kodiak? The first problem is that you have 14 unused CT armor. Drop the Micro Lasers you never get to use, and max out the mech's armor. Drop the rear armor to 10 at most and front load the rest.

Urbanmech.

When in doubt, Urbanmech is the answer.

Lol JK.

Seriously though, I'd suggest the Kodiak.
