I'll take armor quirks on my Novacats happily!!! I already to well in them, heh heh moar armor!? Forget about it, i'll never drive another mech again. Freaking love the Novacats.

It'll need substantial defensive quirks especially with the crazy alphas that are flying around.

I just hope it has armor quirks.. Since they have ECM its doubtful because PGI thinks that makes a gigantic assault invisible.
Crit reduction makes sense with the weapons housed internally.
PPC heat reduction would be nice too.

I mean, I don't actually understand why PGI gave armor to just the 9J. Only the 9FC has marginally superior hardpoints, entirely by virtue of having only 1xE in each arm, but it still has less total guns. The rest of the variants have even fewer options. The NSR-10P got nothing but token structure and it is by far the worst of the lot, with 2xB in each arm with hand and lower actuators and only 2x E to go with them, one of which is in the head. Your best builds are either 4x AC/5 or UAC/2 and a PPC of some sort or some RAC/5 + AC/2. Neither is particularly great for a 95 ton 'Mech. And you better be using the ECM, otherwise take a better variant.

Just need to wait i guess. They do need to collect analytics first, then adjust as necessary.
So that and the Thanatos will get buffed eventually.

Though the thanatos has completely disappeared now sooo...

I'd like to see the quirks swapped between the 5 and the 5B. The 5B is the better HGauss platform, with only two ballistic hardpoints and 5 energy hardpoints for backup lasers. It's practically made for HGauss builds it should have the -10% Gauss cooldown and -25% crit taking chance to help protect against exploding Gauss rifles. The 5, with 4 ballistic hardpoints, is obviously better for things like quad LB10 or RACs & UAC 5 &10s. The quirk sets just seem completely backwards between those two for no real reason.

I will take a single change.... Bring the Heavy Gauss charge time back to the original 4 seconds instead of 5.... The DPS with them is a JOKE! Yea you get a nice shot to the where ever but in the end you wait 5-6-7 seconds for another shot? The rotary ac deal huge amounts of damage in a few seconds.

I really do like putting as much CDR in the Fafnir as I can due to the HGauss CD time which I why I bought the one with less energy hardpoints and the CDR quirk for so that I can shave a second off the HGauss CD.

That useless 90 meter crap.. and the jumping my whole mech around every time i fire Hgauss turns me away.. I can pinpoint standard guass 4-8 times by the time hguass is actually in useful ranges.

So I went back to my -5, took the engine down to a 290, took the left half path for 3/5's of the speed tweak to offset the slow, and went 2 HGauss, 2 LL, and 1 ERML.

So far I like this build a lot more than the 5B one surprisingly.

Not all Fafnirs are Gauss platforms and running Gauss in PUGlandia is too challenging.
