I can confirm.
I play as a Lone Wolf with a bit of clan bias (Although my mech collection has way more IS mechs on virtue of the omnipod system) and I cannot state enough how outgunned clans are when it comes to brawling. Clan cooldowns on lasers take ******* forever, I think a ER med has more cooldown than an IS large, and I just can't compete. Durations for lasers and UACs are also a lot better on IS, it makes it hard to twist off the damage. Even LRMs heavily favor IS due to the firing pattern of the actual weapon making it harder to deal with via AMS.
And do you know how many times I've been one or two-shotted with heavy gauss? ****'s happened to me so many times that a micro-PTSD episode happens whenever I see an Annihilator. I'm shuddering just thinking about it. I play mostly mediums but ****, I was in a ******* MAD CAT and that **** got me. My friend (who is IS loyalist and also complains incessantly about so-called clan tech advantage) actually bought the Annihilator pack and has made it a sport of one-shotting lights and mediums with his dual gauss setup.
I think all that needs to be done is that clan laser damage needs to be knocked down one point for each non-heavy laser except the small pulse.
I play a lot of IS mechs too (I currently own four Phoenix Hawks) and I have to say, they are a huge upgrade when it comes to a close fight.

Thank you MsC for swapping sides, we will always be IS so you guys have someone to fight.
woah woah woah - don't get ahead of yourself there, they don't swap that often. lol.
FP does not need to be closed, what a ridiculous idea. Yes things need some work but it is still quite playable. I actually find things to be fairly balanced right now, with the exception of a few specific instances. Nothing will win either side if you're not working together. It's been beat and beat into these forums that even when there was a drastic imbalance teamwork will typically prevail.

Yes, IS in FP is stronger than clan in brawling, clan is stronger in mid range, and it's about even in long range, what is bad about that?
CERM cooldown is horrible, forget IS, it's actually worse than CERLL cooldown, which makes no sense, it came about due to all the whining about how good CERM is /ton and we're not allowed to have good weapons, everything must suck equally. But honestly it doesn't make much difference, CERM is not a brawling weapon, and when you're trading alphas at 500-800m your ERMs will probably be heat capped anyways, so the cooldown isn't that relevant.
IS ACs are better, refer to previous part, IS is stronger brawling/pushing in FP, and that's ok
LRMs are irrelevant apart from maybe coordinated on polar
yes, dual heavy gauss is very powerful, due to this it has a very short range, and can only be mounted on mechs that are slow as s***, very effective in the invasion maps where you fight through a city, especially hot like vitric, not so good on the QP maps where a 45kph short range mech is too easily kited

It's not the tech. It's the idiots that handicap your teams, ALL, DAY, LONG.

Nothing is wrong with that, I just think that it's foolish that a lot of FP IS loyalists are complaining about Clan tech being OP when here I am getting steamrolled in pubdrops by IS on the regular. I like the asymmetrical nature of the combat and there's nothing wrong with it (even if it is frustrating as **** to get headshotted and killed in a mad cat with over 75% of your armor remaining.....)

A real support mech would come packed with some AMS, ECM, maybe a probe.... these non-trolling LRM builds are honestly just what people think they can use to make a lot of money in a short amount of time, but I honestly have never done as well with a LRM boat as I have with my shadowcat poking at range and hiding until it's time to play crit n' seek... Ironically it's because of these "support" mechs that I bought one of those Kit Foxes and slapped the ECM/3x AMS arm on it and a probe. Now that's a REAL support mech right there. If we could get support mechs like that more regularly in pubs, games would honestly be so much more fun...

Bringing 80 lrms is great against pug is, a mere nuisance vs teams, keep doing it I like winning.
PS most IS guys had the lrm bug beaten out of them ages ago, er lasers can hit u from better ranges than lrms guaranteed.

It is a sign of QP mentality in CW.
ATM boats are easy to beat, QP LRM'ers make us angry.

to see what? how dual heavy gauses tear clanners? or LPL boats tear clanners? or RAC boats tear clanners?
we all know. IS have far better pinpoint damage. anyone who know how to shoot will kill enemy with their toys.

funny you say that, I see lrm/atm boats in faction more often than in QP, it has nothing to do with gamemode

what is the maximum range at which heavy gauss and IS LPL are effective? and why are you fighting them in that range if you're likely much faster? RAC boats? cmon dude, the amt of face time required to use these things makes them really meh, twist and fade from them, just brake line of sight same as with lrms

Mutually exclusive statement.
If you can do 3k in brawl mechs (which I honestly doubt) then you would not be scared for one second of a RAC5 Bushwhacker.

it still not working when he hug you as it should.
really only two tactics left to clan right now. poptarting and flamethrowers.
and for some reason it's not a meta right now.

mad dog with 6x SRM6 and 6x flamethrowers are good. OP in groups.
also clans have another cool thing - hunchback with 2x LBX20. 54 ammo, 3 jump jets and 73 km/h are very cool.
hunchback overall are best clan mech right now.

AC2s at 2km huh?
You can use range (800m+) on many maps including - River, Caustic, Canyon (Hellow MWO2016/2017 anyone?), Crimson etc. Just have to know the map and how to position and read the play.
But then at a 3k damage player you already do, right?
