We ALL want to play a Wasp/Stinger, but we know the legal mumbo-jumbo involved. So you know that other mech that has no legal baggage, weighs 20 tons, has human knee joints, jumps, can carry similar payloads and has a lower engine cap than a Locust?

HORNET (and even has a big name too!)

"lower engine cap"....

Not so much, using the standard 1.6 that PGI used on other lights, a Stinger / Wasp would get a 170, maybe 175 if PGI doesn't feel like being jerks. We're talking a difference of 12-13km/h for straight line running when compared to the 190 series engine max in the Locust, combined with 6 JJ's on a 20t mech it could make for a fun little thing to run around with.

I thought that most lights use 1.4x, not 1.6x?

Lights got 1.6, mediums got 1.4, most others seem to be about 1.2, unless PGI is feeling generous or cruel.

If it was 1.6x then the Raven 3L would have a cap of 340 instead of 295. You must be thinking of certain slower lights that got special treatment. It's 1.4x for the average light.

You might be right, still a 1.6 doesn't sound right... just ran the numbers with a 1.4, it gives a cap of 168 for a base engine of 120, that was the number I was think of, hence the 170 cap, 175 if PGI is feeling generous... 'cause using 1.6 would give a cap of 192 (190 or 195) with a base of 120 that is found in the base Stinger and Wasp units.

this, i don't feel alright with a replacement though

There will be several needs to replace tech on canon mechs due to not having a MWo version.

For example the Hellbringer Prime we have currently in game is,in canon equiped with A-pods to defend against infantry. Yet here we have no infantry or A-pods so the A-pods are not used.

There are several mechs that will needed other items swapped out to be suitable for MWo like any mech with a C3 master or slave unit. And of course we have the "P" variants and PGI fabricated mechs like the Roughneck.

Honestly? Anything 20 or 25 tons. We have four 30 tonners, five 35 tonners, and only a single 20 and 25 tonner.

I want me some more tiny mechs to play.

The Flea has a canon 15-tonner variant... complete with a glorious medium laser and luxurious one ton of armour.

Thought getting that might be a big ask, as it'd likely involve some extra modelling based on the 20-ton variants.

Do we though? Locust has the 20 tonner spot pretty well covered.

No JJs.

No MASC.

No asymmetry.

No faction association.

Chicken walker design.

Yeah, we could use a new 20-tonner, a 25-tonner for most of the same reasons. People like variety, after all. Its better than a sixth 35-tonner or a seventh 50-tonner.
