That being said, I was running a lb20x and erppc stormcrow build that would certainly not be considered meta but that was damn fun to play. And I spent ages in the KDK5 even before decoupling, which is probably the lowest rated kdk, but I do love me some arm lasers.

With it's dual LB10-X I can destroy components in seconds and i always get a lot of damages!
It's a little hot, but it works sooooooo well

Admittedly, I quirked its laser duration to hell and back and invested in a lot of cooling, but it just MELTS enemies.
Had a cheeky assassin come up and try to duel me.
Little guy did not even know what hit him after I did roughly 70-80 damage to him.
And, in case you need to die and become a second sun:
Override and alpha. There is not a single mech in the game that will take 80 damage and be fine afterwards.

Usually better near the end game when the enemy has been stripped of most armor but still great.

Flame 1xRAC5 4xERMediums performs quite well for me.
Butterbee 3xLPL 4xRocket20s that rocket alpha will RUIN someone's day
K9 with just about anything. Nobody expects the Urbanmech!
St Ives Blue 2xHPPCs not at all competitive, but can usually bring in 350 or so dmg with a kill or two
Closer to meta I think
Crab 5xMed lasers 2xLAMS be sure to keep that AMS toggle switch somewhere easily reachable
High Roller 2xRAC5 way too much fun (my current go-to favourite)
TDK with 4xMPL
