[Chill Bill]

Was wondering what builds people are currently finding to be consistent performers?

MC with 2 X UAC 10 + 2 X UAC5
NSR 10P with 2 X UAC5 + UAC2 + lasers + ECM
NSR 9P with 3 X UAC10
Kodiak 3

Any other assault.....Or are dakka builds not currently recommended on fatties?

I own all those mechs, and the MCII-B with 2 UAC10 and 2 UAC5 is the most consistent and effective of them, imo. The KDK is a better ridge peeker, but its mobility sucks hard.

The NSRs are okay. The 9P is definitely the best of the bunch, and the 3 AC10 + 2 ERML build feels the most effective of all the ones I've tried (though the 2 LB20X + 2 SNPPC one is fun if absurdly hot). The 3 UAC10 build isn't bad, but it's really hot. I prefer the cooler AC10s that let you twist after shooting if you can't stare the enemy down.

I like mixed builds myself on the Direwolf. 2-3 LB-2X acs, 2-4 LMGs, 2-4 ERMLs,0-1 ERPPPC,SRM-4 or,ARMs. The Direwolf allows 1 AC per arm( 2 per arm with UV omnipods), rt&lft torso allow up to 2 ACs per torso for a pure Dakka build.

MCII-B dakka is my suggestion for a dakka build. Most consistent performance of any dakka build I've seen.

Just about any Annihilator
Sleipnir
King Crab
Mauler

Some might fit certain playstyles/preferences better than others, but they all can sling lead.

Hero *phract Ilya and hero warhammer have very similar playstyle and damage output.
The Ilya also has assault level armor quirks.

Best clan dakka assualt. it basicly a 90 ton kdk3 but better since the weapon are arm mounted and it has a JJ.

BUT IS NOBODY DOING TO MENTION THE DAKKAWOLF?

Yeah, yeah, it's slow and squishy, but letting those hex/octa UAC/2s let rip at 1000+ rounds per minute is a thrill.

I've been trying something new for the last 2 days on MCII-B. UAC10x2 with 5t ammo, UAC20x1 with 3.5t ammo, ERMLas x 2, 350XL, 1JJ, Light probe, the rest in heat sinks. I've been surprised by its performance.

You will Explode if you run this...

Ghost heat penalties are not very kind even to just 2 UAC/10s which is within the "Okay" limit, but if you fire too fast, you still get punished even with just two. Three of them will likely cause you to explode in short order.
Mix a UAC/5 in there, or perhaps 2 5s and a 10.

Using UV arm omnipods on any Direwolf you can carry quad CAC2s in the arms( 2 per arm) and there are right& left torso omnipods that allow 2 more CAC2s per torso. If this ain't DAKKA HEAVEN I reckon I don't know.

I own KCGs and Maulers, and while I like them, they aren't quite on the same level as the Annihilator and the afore mentioned clan 'mechs. You can't really combine AC 10s and AC 5s on them in the same way as the other options because they have all their ballistics split between two locations, and never enough crits to equip AC 10s at the same time as 5's.

I've solo killed 5 Annihilators in the last two days. In fact, I look for them since I consider them easy targets. I try to only kill other assaults. I'm working on skilling up this KDK-3 on my Alt Clan account.

And I'm not a good player. I'm Tier 3 for life I think.

After 7,000 plus matches, I just did my first Circle of Death on a Marauder II. I say this with both pride and shame. I've never played shooters before and never had to move using keyboard buttons.

This little bit of basic info is the kind of thing I wish someone had shown me how to do. I have a really bad habit of face-tanking I think it is called.

That is one reason I'm good with the KDK-3 and I suck at playing Lights.
