It's also entirely possible that the HSR was feeding you bad info or that your client hadn't updated the armor graphic.

never look directly at someone with 2 hgauss, that's how you lose your head.
I know this from using 2hgauss to snap someone.

How MUCH armor?
See, if you have less armor than they have in damage to deliver, the shot(s) still gets crit rolls.
At 25 damage per crit with 1x crit, 15% of that becomes (with 2 HGR) 57.5 damage from the twin Heavy Gauss within optimum range.

That's assuming it can't double or triple crit.
Also did ammo explode?

All Gauss Rifles are 42% chance to 1-Crit, and and only the LGauss doesn't have half CritDam

Crappy part is...it happened to me again! This time I was in my Firebrand. The game mode was Skirmish, on Caustic Valley. I am so sick of nascar on that map that at the beginning I called for an antinascar firing line at Delta 6. To my amazement the team complied and I led the thrust in my 6ER small, twin RAC 5 300XL Jager. (Yes, I have armor and structure nodes.)

Like clockwork lasers, ppc's, bullets of all kinds start flying as a light had crested the approaching hill, signaling enemy nascar. I then took a peek to find a Mad Cat Mk. II, D.S. staring at me. Again, I f*ck*d up by pressing both mouse buttons simultaneously scratching him with my 6 crimson beams and spinning my RACs. Gawd if only my RACs had begun to fire maybe he would have been blinded enough to miss. Or had I reacted correctly by changing course...again hindsight.

Next thing I know: I am looking at my smoldering corpse, but immediately looked to my armor display...not a single color. BUT! My head was missing, LMAO. As I sat in disbelief I quickly did the math as this was 30 ppfld and concluded that I should have survived this one.

Didn't even watch the rest of the match. Mechlab. I sh*t you not, I had shaved 6 points from my head armor. 18-6=12 + 17 structure = 29. I am not making this sh*t up. I instantly shaved some more leg armor and built my head armor up past 30.

Don't shave your head armor unless you're a light
