I'm Australian and i choose the mech variants it says has the shortest wait times but nothing...
If i choos North American and Oceanic in the list i get mostly NA servers and occasional oceanic games... If i remove NA i get no games it just sits there, why is this going on..

You're limiting yourself for no reason. Select US as well, find matches instantly. I play one in 10 games on Oceanic I reckon. It's all about load balancing, availability, players etc.
Playing on US is no issue at all.

Something you are clearly having a problem with.
Honestly I play with 250-350ms US/EU and I really do not notice any difference to when I'm on Oceanic with 110ms. If I can't notice it...

Maybe we should suggest that to the split-queue people just to feel what Oceanic users have been loving to death.

Lol yeah it's awesome. The population is that low in Oceanic cycle (even with US ticked) that Mon-Thur it can take easily 15mins+ even for SoloQ. I rarely play mid week now if it's after 6pm local time (literally peak for Oceanic).
But then that is partly my fault as I flatly refuse to tick EU.

Sorry, I refuse to tick Oceanic (ping). I tick EU though. It's probably some sort of Russian influence.... or something .
Actually, EU's just a lot more latency friendly than Oceanic (I'm talking about 150+ms in EU vs 250+ms in Oceanic) with respect to the US (East Coast).
Honestly, Oceanic should really be US West Coast or something, but that's a different discussion I guess.
