You are kidding right.. If a team drops with no counter to the other team they are lost... They have no chance from the get go.. Nascar or not the match maker isn't working right..

The counter to lights are fast well-armed mediums -- as everyone is about to see next week. <maniacal

Having said that, what do you want a match maker to do, end-to-end balance via players, mechs, weapons. and other equipment?

That’s why my favorite medium mechs have 18-20 streaks, a probe, and a 2-3 ERML.
That’s also why a lot of my heavy and assault mechs have 12-18 streaks, a probe, plus…
I see light mechs consistently having the highest damage in any given game, and that is broken. The delves will not do anything about it, and light pilots scream that it is all about skill… it’s not, skill has nothing to do with it. It’s all about bad hit reg and stupid speed. So you have to fix it yourself. The best tool for fixing the issues is streaks!
I've seen people post these claims of lights always doing top damage before so I just checked my last 5 QP match screenshots and top damage was
L - 0
M - 0
H - 2
A - 3
Which is about the same as every other time I've checked, since its been assaults and heavies with the majority of top damages then as well.
Not really seeing the proof of these OP light mechs.

I think everyone has pretty much covered this issue. A kodiak sitting at the back lurming without support is going to feel the sharp sting of several rounds of SRM's in the back, and more than likely fall over. That's not the lights fault.
Unless you are very good with lights, you are going to get hammered (I have certainly been on the receiving end many, many times). There is a reason that they are consistently under-represented in matches. It's certainly not because they are OP. But they can be a lot of fun before they explode horribly.
Anyway. Never stop running my light brothers, and happy hunting!

Also OP try the Cyclops 10-Q if you insist on assault mechs. Do 6 streak srm 6 in two fire groups of 3 and laugh at any lights that try to gank you then run when they realize what you have. I'm guessing you're probably new so you should definitely try mediums and heavies until you get the hang of the game. Lights and assaults are the two harder mech weights to play.

Outside of being mean, learn to kill lights. It's not hard if you follow advice-mostly the 'scoot back and move counter to enemy circling, sweep leg'.

Ok.... OP is relatively fresh in the game apparently having started end of season 17.
Yes, with a few exceptions in one previous season, he plays only assaults... a lot... like over 500 matches in a season.
I don‘t know which assault he uses but with an average matchscore of under 200 and a k/d ration of around 0.5, he can‘t be too good at what he is doing.
The statement „tactical options“ as an excuse for walking off alone in an assault is indeed rich though... haven‘t heard that one before.
Apparently he also misunderstood the concept to „stay with the group“ with „hugging each other very close while giving reach-arounds in butt-grabbing“.

Team drops...
Team runs off to the middle of the map leaving Assault behind..
Light mechs murder lone assault trying to catch up..
Team says stop running off alone Assault mech...
Quick play Everytime..

You know there are pilots who favour mediums and lights that run towards their assaults every game.
I don't see it as often in lower tiers though.
In my opinion as a maybe somewhat average/competent pilot who can't necessarily pull off the soloing a really skilled guy can get away with, it is a solid strat that for myself has netted a huge uptick in success.
A lot of light pilots heading for their favourite cookie, prioritise the whale they are after and I feel like I get easy kills this way. I don't know it has just worked better for me than running off on my own or over committing.

Lights are a poor counter to lights. If 2 equally skilled boxers get in the ring, one will eventually win, but they'll both be beat up. The current hard counter to lights are double LBX20s, double Gauss and SRM boats. Lights NEED an assault to be out of position in order to take advantage of his poor maneuvering. If the assaults stayed in position and covered each other then the light team wouldn't stand a chance. They could peek and poke only so many times till their luck ran out.
