thats why LMGs are good alternative IMO

you sacrifice dps under 180m but you gain more dps above 180m and increase your durability substantially by not having to get within 180m. The longer range of LMGs also lets you take advantage of the slightly longer range of er-microlasers over regular MGs too.

8.4 dps with LMGs is still respectable, its more than the mist lynx does

Even with the splat damage spread on an alpha, catch the Piranha in the cloud of death and it's at least losing a leg to make the next shot certain death.
