I was look up my headshot count and some how I have 11...all unintentional.
I'd be nice to have an optional tone, sound, and/or popup(glaringly obvious popup) to indicate the headshot.
Most the time the paper doll falls away faster than I can glance at it to see what the killing blow was. And the scrolling text, I dont' even see those.
Yes yes yes, ya'll are going to complain how its gimmicky and too FPS arcadey for "mechwarror", thats why I said make it togglable so it can be switch on if you want it, and left off if not and probably only audible to you in the cockpit, unlike the warhorn behavior.
What say you!!!
In before the salt!

Perhaps just a simple text notification on the HUD instead of a voice?

That would be nice. I have gotten a couple of what I thought were headshot kills, but my achievement counter is not moving.

I asked for this 3 years ago... the video is gone in my post but it was the exact same suggestion.

To me, a Head shot kill is like a badge of honor. Due to being difficult to achieve, it would be nice to know if not done through some cockpit gimmick or maybe when the match is over and it shows up as a separate listing?

Mechwarrior 4 gave you an audio warning if your head got damaged. It's not "lol omg arcadey !!!!111one." It's one of the most important parts of the mech, it makes logical and realistic sense to warn the pilot if he's in danger of becoming red paste.

Where I was going with this is I kinda wanna do a run of trying to intentionally get headshots instead of just accidentally popping people. And right now, its a bit too easy for the headshot to go unnoticed since the paper doll usually is already off screen by the time you've disengaged.
Well that and sometimes you don't even know you've killed the person since I've observed a slight, maybe .3-.5s delay between the hit, and the mech visually running its "I'm dead animation".

Mechwarrior 3 gave an audio warning, too. Sound of glass breaking.
