I just realized that this event shows nicely the part of the problem we have with the match score:
PGI still thinks that damage is the only thing counting, even (or specially?) on light mechs.

This event could count flanking, lance in formation, scouting, capping, tag assisting...whatever. But no, it had to be damage done.

Actually, I hope that doesn't happen until after 4 PM PST (GMT -08:00) Friday, 2018-01-26... My Electrical Power Company thought it would be funny to knock me out during most of that day. I may know the problem's coming, but it really ticks me off when I try to be ready for anything.

I may have been an early proponent, but having a Real Life Issue in the way has made me hesitant. After that time-based issue is over, however, then I would be totally happy to see an Event to attract Non-Piranha Owners for the Piranha Pilots to battle with.

I think that since there are all these fishermen going after the Merpeople piloting Piranhas there should be a headhunter type event. 10/20/30/40 kills equals something decent but not new mech pack release stuff.

Probably would have to be "Kill Assist" for those counts... Smaller counts if only counting Piranha Mechs... Somewhere inbetween Large and Small for "Kill and/or KMDD" for allowing any chassis to count... And an Event like that would need at least 5 to 7 Days to run, possibly more... You've got some ideas there, though.

Sure, this time it was to be expected, but it's a bad habit you got there, in my opinion.

Uh, the Piranha mech challenge was announced in the countdown to Piranha release news.

Hm, broke 100 DMG after my first 4 matches (unskilled PIRs) and i very much doubt i will hit 1000 with any of them.

I also liked it when the new mech launch events included something for those that didn't buy the pack. I'm selective with what packs I buy, so I enjoyed the past events where there was a bonus for taking out the newly launched mechs.

Release-Events are a bad idea. 4 PIR per game every game is tooo much.

4 PIR per side/match happened perhaps on the first two days, and they would be played that much anyway. I do not believe that the event had that much impact on that.
