Seriously.

How do you release a mech into this game when you know that 3/4th's of the mechs, including quite a few other lights, can one shot it? This is true even if you can only hold a laser on target half it's burn duration.

And heaven forbid one of your teammates accidently shoot you in the back. Unless they have superhuman reflexes, you die before they can get their guns twisted away.

And with no ECM and no jump jets, not really sneaking up on anyone either unless they are already engaged with another mech.

So basically, fish can steal kills and that's about it :P

It's not armor, it's speed issue.

There is not enough speed in this game to make up for LRM/SSRM/ATM's Posted Image

Just too many missles out right now so its hard to gauge what it can take.
Streaks come flying out of no where.

Going to have to camp out most the game till everyones hurt. Direct engagement is very tough right now

That and the sheer number of people who current see fish and just ignore everything else to charge in :D

(seriously, I've been suicide rushed in 4 of the 5 matches I've run my fish in so far)

more SSRMs and LB-X anti-light loadouts than there was 2 days ago. Can't really judge it accurately until everyone calms down.

Its kinda too early to say what it needs. Wait till the dust settles.

And no matter what, we certainly dont need one more urbanmech.

No sympathy. A nimble light mech with Nova-level weapon hardpoints and spooky levels of theoretical firepower that allows for some very strong FP decks does not deserve more durability. There are plenty of IS light mechs that would love to have 50% more hardpoints than they already have, but they don't get any love. So not sorry at all. Git gud and play it like a glass fairy.

Trashborns don't deserve an Urbanmech.

I'm guessing that the main problem here is that the MG fishy needs facetime with the enemy, and that isn't easy to do with light mechs.

ECM isn't really a requirement for sneaking up on folks, most of my Javelins don't have ECM and it's not a problem (although may be tougher in higher tiers than mine), and they aren't as fast as these things.

I haven't seen what's happening, so just speculating. I guess I'll see how bad things are later when I can get online. Looking forward to it.

A locust doesn't survive twin heavy gauss either.. In TT you don't survive a large laser hit without losing a location most of the time with a 20t mech.

I will surely go fishing with a streak loadout medium just for fun. Will put stealth armor on my griffin with a bunch of ssrm4 or 6 and ruin their game, lol

Yep to both these. Even if you are trying to keep those MGs on target, do not stop moving at full speed. Speed is your armour. Run or die.

Of course the problem with having Clam level hardpoints on an IS mech, is that you don't have enough spare weight or crit space to do anything with them.Posted Image

Actually the hit boxes make it more invulnerable to hits than the cheetah's boxes... the problem with the mech is however the cockpit view is atrocious. You're constantly hitting other mechs/walls/buildings you didn't see were there because your fov out the single front window is so narrow. Unless you're running a super wide fov in the settings on a large (or multiple) monitors, you're not going to enjoy driving this mech. I'm running my setting at 75 degrees and on EVERY one of the other 350 mechs I own, that is fine, even in atlases, kodiaks, and annihilators. In this thing....Oy vey...

The armor goes pretty quick, but twist and don't stay under their gun sights for very long. Solo QP you should be able to survive, maybe longer than an assault that took the wrong path since you can make a mistake and recover.

I have a Track-IR that follows my head movement and translates into me glancing around on the character in the cockpit. This means I can actually lean a bit to the right and forward and look left to get a bit more view in that particular direction since my in game character does the same in their cockpit.

Everyone thinks the Blood Asp is next for clans, but if ya'all dirty urbie lovers really want this, guess we can convince PGI to do clan urbie instead :)
