Well, that's more or less what I was going for. That's where the commando comes in to play ;-)

The Commando can't gank like the Piranha can. There is no "4 second Commando" but there sure as **** is a 4 second Piranha.

I know you like your fun and games, but this is not one of those times where it's fun and games. This is a legitimate and dramatic disparity in capabilities.

My biggest issue is now resolved but not thrilled by it.

I built a new computer recently. It is an 8600k, with an Asus 1070ti strix, couple of ssd's, with 16 gigs of expensive fancy freak light show capable ram...that could probably cause seizures. I felt that this system should be capable of running the game on high for my monitor which is 4k.

The PC has Windows 10 (urgh....), drivers, freak light show controls all sinked and never to be turned on ever again, antivirus, firefox, MWO, and TS. That's it.

Game ran at over 90fps at most times on most maps, that is until the piranha.

Two piranha and a missing lynx would drop me to below 10 and cause me to die. Six to eight lights with mg's especially if a bunch of them are twelve plus? That would cause my frame to freeze and then I would a bit later see the death screen.

The fix was to reduce settings to medium and then go into advanced, turn off Anti-Aliasing, and turn particle effects to low. I also changed some settings in Nvidia Control panel due to some advice.

Really wanted all that money I spent on this computer to let me have the eye candy at a playable rate. Had it and enjoyed it for a month and not liking the solution so much.

So far I am not liking this mech and I have not even piloted one. Probably be wise to pick em up as 12 lmg's are ridiculous and already watched three different EmP guys in them on stream getting 4-8 kills, and some really nutty damage values. Willing to bet PGI will squeeze the sales for a bit then nerf the ever living crap out of them.

Wonder if we will see anymore rage quit videos with golden direwhales?

Has anyone noticed CT usually gets all the hit? For me, literally first component to be damaged and exposed is CT, unlike other lights.

Dunno i'm usually dead instantly so i can never check which part got hit..

I had some problems building a proper Fafnir 5E Variant. But eventually i settled on a LFE 320 2 RAC5 and... 4 S-SRM6 build.

Suffice to say...When a Piranha tried to jump over me, it was a very satisfying splat

I dont see the piranha that much...But it seem the skill of the pîlots that do pilot them has increased alot.

More like Deadliest potato killer.

Peeps have gotten pretty wise to how it plays, which means taking really wide arcs to get around the enemy team.

And it doesn't do it in 4 seconds unless the your opponent is straight up standing there, not moving, and not paying attention; in which case GG a deathstrike will do you from the front just as bad almost as fast.

Any assault or heavy that starts moving as soon as you initiate a backstab is probably going to eat you, and I've noticed that the tall humanoinds with high torso mounts now all have arm weapons, which is effective everywhere except the Kodiak. On the kodiak I've learned you can plant yourself between the crotch and a leg and get backshots by shooting up into the hip joints, which I definitely think is hella unfair.

Not going to deny its a powerful mech, but it isn't super OP just because it bad touches certain people who don't know how to deal. You don't even have to kill one to get it to **** off, open either leg or a side torso and the pilot will probably run.

Hmm most people have gotten bored and stopped playing it already.
Mine only ever comes out if I get really irritated and want to punish people(usually lrms boat since there seems to be an influx of those lately).

Either something got nerfed(c-mgs maybe?) or maybe I'm just out of practice but it did feel a little less potent than it was. Felt like I was staring at people for longer than I remember previously.

The crits got nerfed a little bit.

Play the Cipher, it is faster at blowing through targets anyway.

Exceptionally true. That's why you take your first shot from close to your maximum range right beside cover. If they show any response and aren't already beat to ****, back off and look for easier (stupider) prey.

I've noticed they tend to put up about the same score, and definitely don't have the ammo shortage issues of the PIR-1, but I haven't been able to pin down a good build for the thing.

It's a niche mech that does its one job exceptionally well. I only wish other light mechs (especially certain underperforming sphere mechs) could be brought to parity. People are pretty tired of it because its become one of the most focused mechs in the game, theres been a lot more famine going around.

But you know whats crazy is how much of a distraction you can be without really engaging the enemy until the end. Like when all the spud launchers are aimed at me and I'm ducking out from behind one piece of cover over and over and over again from like 700 meters away. Or when a failed backstab leads to like 4 or 5 very slow mechs chasing you through buildings.

There are also a whole slew of assaults and heavies that are just not to be ****** with, because you're lunch as soon as they start turning. I think the other thing people don't consider is that in order to get a max effective backstab or component focus you have to be more or less stationary. The thing turns so fast that feathering the a and d keys throws your aim all over the place. An agility nerf might actually make it more effective in the hairball brawls.

But I think the most fun to be had is when someone legs you within your max range and you have just enough time to literally eat their ******* face before they can finish the job.

I'm so glad other folks understand the true potential of the MG boats. It's so much more than the backstabbing.
