[Alternate Aubergine]

So there's another sale and I may or may not have enough MC to <s>waste</s> spend on an assault hero, but I dunno if the ones I want are any good.
Choices are:
- Zeus
- Awesome
- Mauler
- King Crab (this is the only one I know what I'd do with, 4x Light PPC, 2x RAC5 or light gauss, STD 340-ish)

Opinions?

Already have one on the main account, it's an old favourite. AC20 + SNPPC for that up-close brick to the face

Guess it depends. You have played as Zeus, Awesome or the Mauler before, correct?

If not, I recommend that you do so you have an idea of what you're sinking into. If you enjoy it, great, as it isn't for everyone.

Because its not on sale.

I myself am also looking for my first Hero mech, and I am looking very closely at the MAD-IIC Scorch, saw some videos on YouTube and the one with LBX20 + SRM6 looks super fun to play.

Yeah, looking to get an IS mech or variant that I don't already have on the other account. I've used the free champion Zeus but I had limited success with that one, maybe the hero's hardpoint options might be better. I also can't find a build that I like on the Mauler hero so it's looking like the Zeus or barndoor Awesome

Yes, which already has way more mechs than I know what to do with. But I got extremely weary of tier 2 at some point and wanted to go back to potato land for a while

I've picked up several of them and have been playing them a fair bit. Of the assaults on sale I'd personally recommend the Marauder IIC Scorch followed by the Supernova Boiler. They both handle well, and you can get a lot of interesting configs out of them both, and you can get their alpha damage up in the 80s (although it's not all "pinpoint"). The MAD-IIC-SC just feels a bit more responsive than the SNV-BR, and both can get 80-90ish alpha damage pretty easily.

Thanks for the recommendation. Going to pull the trigger on the Scorch one of these days before the sale ends.
