How long have you even been playing?

There was a time when solo players like myself, if we were many enough, could fight full 12 man teams on pretty equal terms. Each of us maybe not among the best but still did 13-16 hundred dmg and 3-6 kills per game. And dont involve the tier here, I started FP on a very low level and have done hundreds of FP games, but really not ever liked the QP mode.

That was never the case in the last two years I have been playing.

Even really terrible units, since I have been playing destroyed pugs. That is unless there were three or four stars mixed in with them that could carry.

As well your tier is significant. Not to insult you, but to point out that it does make a difference. It is stated in the warning and not being matched up against people with similar skill absolutely makes a difference. You mention that you have hundreds of drops. How many of them as a pug? How many times did you have good leadership or filled in for a unit? These experiences make a huge difference as you are not going to learn much in a pug on pug free for all.

You do know that FP does not affect tier tight? There are many excellent FP pilots in tiers 2 and 3 who play FP exclusively and never filled the tier 1 XP bar.

Yes I am even aware of two "tier 2's" in your unit.

I am also painfully aware how easy it is, even for a very average pilot to shoot through the tiers.

Faction only die hards are a rare breed though and those few oddities are exceptions to the rule...

Lol whos smurf account is this? Tier means nothing dude. Nothing at all,(Since there is no skill based matchmaker anywhere in this game lol) I know some very very good players who haven't played that mode in ALOT more than the 2 years you say you have been playing.

Also quickplay and GQ are a TERRIBLE place to prepare for FP. Theres 1 strat there. 1 plan. NASCAR. All day everyday. New players will learn nothing there to prepare them except bad habits. And QP veterans who come in here struggle to unlearn ditching your team while running in a circle.

Do you think tier matter? Then I can also tell you I grinded my clan account exclusively through fp in a solo fashion. It is actually also in tier 3 now.

Not all bad really. At least we now know that its a tier 1 player that cant even pull off a 300 avg matchscore when he start a new account playing against tier 4 and 5 players.

It's because of drugs . New players want to do drugs instead of playing FP games .

Its a known fact that if your name is spelled with caps and spaces you are one of the cool kids. Only thing scarier that SpaceCaps is those guys with xX's in their names.

As someone that has returned (I played in beta, lost interest, came back) I can say why I consider quitting (again).

Because it is frustrating. And a lot of it has to do with the skill system. (Long rant)

I am probably an average player. Nothing wrong with that. We cannot all be Rambo. I like to solo play, because I never know for how long I want to play. I might play a couple matches, I might play 5.

I tried out Trial Mechs until I found one I liked (Raven) and then bought one and started playing. This is Tier 5. And I have atrocious kill numbers, low damage, die without understanding why. And I am getting frustrated. So I read up. I check for better builds. Tweak my Mech until I feel comfortable with him. And I get better. I think I get something like 30% wins, 70% losses. I earn exp, and skill the Mech up. And once it was fully skilled up, something shifted. All of a sudden I start winning way more than before. I wonder whether I suddenly "got" the game.

Either way, I am up for something new. I buy a Griffin. And I have bad kill numbers. Low damage. I die quickly. I get frustrated. I do not research, because I did that before buying a Griffin. But skill point by skill point by performance gets better. In the end, I reach the point (now in Tier4) where I am often one of the top 2 damage dealers on my side. I am disappointed if I do below 400 damage. Most matches are 400-700, 800 come up regularly, best I have done is 1350.

So I look for something new to try. I buy a Warhammer. Rinse, repeat. I am currently frustrated no end because I am trying to earn Skillpoints while doing half the damage I was doing in my Griffin. I am trying to train up the Warhammer to get to a point where I am competetive. The effect of these skills is way to powerful to compensate. Every Mech I ever skilled up so far ended up doing 2-3 times as much damage as I was doing at day 1. Sure, some of that probably comes from better knowing your Mech and/or being better able to judge what you can or cannot do. But the skills add way too much. And it takes way too long in a frustrating gameplay to get those skills up there. Right now I play until I am sick of the game, which is often 2-3 matches.

Always trying to play catch up to everybody else is getting annoying. And doing that with every single new Mech you buy does not make buying new Mechs very attractive.

Other things that annoy me is how often people (apparently mostly my team) go linkdead / get disconnected during matches. I actually did 9 or 10 matches today, over 4 sessions and I had 2 matches where we did not lose a player before we started.

***EDIT: And all that becomes exponential when trying out faction warfare. I bought the Warhammer, because I could not try out faction warfare without it. My Mechs were too light. And if I have this many problems in normal gameplay, I sure do not want to try out faction warfare, which is even more unforgiving and even more of a grind.***

if you only play Faction Play then you should still be tier 5, only quick play matches are supposed to count towards tier, so I am curious how you got to tier 3 without playing quick play at all.

As I said earlier I stopped playing FW in the early phase 3. Think I played one game a while back just to see how it was nowadays. Otherwise I only drop a few QP games here and there when I feel like it.

This account was formally known as i am tuul... Check Jarl's list.

As well the stats you are looking at in season 18 are entirely from piloting trail Phoenix Hawk.

Oh and this account is tier 3...

You are not going to win this argument against me. Part of it is I think you are misinterpreting what I am saying and my point. A big part of that point is that the 'tier one' badge like many have said is not meaningful in of itself. Another part is you are seemingly unaware of a couple of things. Such as your Clan account may be tier 3, but it isn't from 'grinding' it in CW.

Tiers have no meaning because even players who are average at best (using myself as an example), who are experienced, can shoot through tiers. This account was put into tier 3 after playing five games, and is not used that much.

Guys like Yondo are rare. In his case that tier 4 doesn't match his experience or skill level, and folks like me who almost exclusively drop CW at this point are familiar with the few guys like him around.

Well as a reply I will quote "someones" earlier post:

"You're not getting it.

Since there is zero for match maker, you are going to have a tough time as a tier three."

Well that was an incredibly lazy quote.

My point stands. If you can't even manage to make it to meaningless tier one, when it is just so very easy, you are likely a player who is waaaay below average.

So again, you will run into (in your case more often than not) players who are far better at the game.

Like I said you are not going to win this.

Lol, now we are getting somewhere.

Let me reply to that with another couple of quotes:

"As well your tier is significant. Not to insult you, but to point out that it does make a difference. It is stated in the warning and not being matched up against people with similar skill absolutely makes a difference."

And then after some...

"Tiers have no meaning because even players who are average at best (using myself as an example), who are experienced, can shoot through tiers. This account was put into tier 3 after playing five games, and is not used that much."

See how easy it is to change our minds.

You are not saying anything.

You no longer appear to be trying to make any kind of point.

Guess you are as bad at expressing yourself as you are at playing the game.
