Now so many years later, I almost never take out my Clan mechs.

Probably my Archer purchase, still tempted to sell everything bar the (S) & Hero, I just didn't find them enjoyable and was too swept up in how well the Marauder, Warhammer & Rifleman looked to think too hard about that purchase.
A close 2nd would be upgrading my A La Carte Hellbringer to the full Wave II pack (along with upgrading my Summoner & Timber Wolf purchases to a full Wave I pack), since the rest of those 'mechs just don't do it for me and the best versions are available for C-Bills anyway. At least all the Wave I 'mechs are solid.
A distant 3rd would be Resistance I. Not a fan of the Panther, sold all except the ®. Still have fun in a few Zeus, but not the ® variant. Enforcer is solid, but not to my taste, even though I just bought the Ghillie. Grasshopper is still pretty solid, but like the Zeus the ® variant is pretty bad.

That would be Cougars for me.
Theory crafted them, tinkered with loadouts, taken them to the Testing Grounds, but not played a single match with any of them.
At least I only "wasted" C-Bills on my untouched Javelins, Assassins, Roughnecks, Cyclops, Banshees & Kind Crabs...

The Urbanmech
Most people would think that this is because I'm an Urbie hater or something, or that I pilot assaults (which I do), but those aren't the reasons. The mech performs fine (thankfully PGI didn't do the standard engine limitations for it).
No, the reason I regret the purchase of the Urbanmech is because how that one mech changed how PGI sold mechs entirely. Pre-Urbanmech PGI sold mechs in large mech packs (Founders, Clan, Resistance, etc.) and that gave people an option to pay a hefty amount to receive a bulk discount. I own every bulk pack in existence - top tier, too. That's how I preferred to purchase my mechs.
But once PGI saw that they could sell an individual chassis for 20 bucks and people not only didn't get mad but jumped on that bandwagon to do it they saw their golden opportunity to release a single mech at a time under the same schema. Gone are the days of large savings bundles, and it is because the sale of the Urbanmech was successful.
So for that reason, I regret that to this very day.
P.s. Yeah I bought the f-in' Fafnir, what of it?

So, my vote goes to the QKD-IV4. Dunno what I expected. It's tanky AF and has some seriously strong offensive quirks for MRMs and stuff but man, something about feels bad. It also looks so damn ugly. Something about the matte finish some of the older IS 'Mechs have makes their paint schemes look horribly blargh.

I spent most of that month trying to make the Uziel work. Then it was Clan Wave II & III Heroes. Then the Osiris. Then I spent a month doing Clan laser vomit. Then a month doing IS laser vomit. Then a month doing ballistic + energy builds. Next month looks like missiles + energy builds, so maybe then?

The 'Mechs aren't terrible by any means, but when I signed in to play with them in Faction Play following delivery, my unit had gone Clan. I had accepted the prompt to go Clan with my unit prior to the delivery date, so I couldn't play with any of them in Faction Play on delivery day.
I decided to drop out of the faction so I could play my Bushwhackers, and got hit with that "Desertion" cooldown, so I still couldn't play with them. I think I logged out and didn't come back for like a month, making my preorder partially pointless. I should've spent the money on something else. Faction Play implementation is flawed.

2x ER-ML + 2x SRM6? There are other mechs in the same weight class which do either lasers or missiles better.
Can't use ballistics because 40t doesn't leave enough weight to go for anything better than an AC2.
And singular MGs are just worthless.
Worst of all: With one more hardpoint it would be fine.
I'm in a love-hate relationship with the ARC-T (Archer Tempest): While I really like the chassis and it is one of the few IS heavys with ECM, the low arm mounts and low cockpit cause lots of irritation. Going over a hill you'll get shot at long before you see the enemy and by the time your arms are clear the enemy is already hiding. And when moving back behind a hill, you'll still receive shots long after you lose sight to the enemy. It performs ok-ish when the terrain allows poking via the side, but any Warhammer build can easily outperform the ARC-T. *sigh*
Had some good results in FP back in the day with a 3x LPL build, but since then LPL got nerfed and the Warhammer can do that build much better.

But if I had to narrow it down to just one, I'd have to say *gasp* the Mad Cat MKII. I bought it on a whim one night while playing with a friend. I should have known better since at the time that I bought it (Oct) I had already given up on a lot of mechs (especially assualts) because I felt they were too sluggish. Why I thought this one would be different is beyond me.
It's not a bad mech obviously, it's just not a mech that I feel comfortable with and just happens to be the most recent mech pack I bought that I don't play. I have more fun (and success) in a Jenner, Adder, or Spider than I do in that mech. It's just a purchase that I knew I probably wouldn't like but just couldn't stop myself. It was avoidable but I gave in to temptation. At least the Thanatos got me a loyalty Victor.

If we had known what we were actually sponsoring, and that soon we'd be told that "Founders are not the target Audience" this game would have never gotten off the ground to begin with.
