OK, so I've been reading the forums until my eyes are going to fall out of my face. Nowhere can I find out WHAT the 8 basic skills are for the skill tree. Are they the yellow ones?

I think what you've read relates to pre skill tree stuff, we used to have basic, elite and master unlocks

basic skills in skill tree context doesn't make sense

What do you mean "Basic skills?

Color coding only applies to firepower tree.
Green: missle
Yellow: energy(heatgen)
Purple: Ballistic

Everything else is just blue

There is no concept of basic, elite, master anymore.

Youre either mastered(91 SP unlocked) or not.

Thanks guys, didn't see that the basic->elite->master stuff was done with. I already read and use everything y'all linked (Thank you Process and Spike). I guess the 91/239 threw me off, as well as the emblem that populates in the skills nodes box (the little box top middle of the 'current 'mech enhancements' window). So now I take it you can only get the 91 points

I just started playing late December, and most of the new players I run with didn't know anything.

What Spheroid says doesn't make a bit of sense, but there's that. I can appreciate the input, though
