Also, the old Pin-Art of 'scantily clad Mechwarrior Women' is stupid and always will be.

Well, mercenaries are basically running a business. And if modern businesses have taught us anything, it's that sex sells. So this...

Is really just good business sense. Gotta promote the brand.

You're no fun are you? Can't blame you, after the rise of the SJW, everything is being unfunnied.

I get my own 'fun' from scantily clad men, not women. Neither should have a true place in the cockpit for MWO, and I find the people who argue for either in any form other than WW2-style pinup art distasteful. (IE, pinups fine, 'Sexy'warrior Online not fine).

I guess I just find that attitude and such to be completely at odds with Battletech's (Or Mechwarrior's) reimagined 'Semi-Professional, Serious paramilitary space, Game of Thrones*' aesthetic as opposed to the clumsy mechs and scantily clad pilots of yore.

As for that joke, I find it dated, and clumsily shoehorning it into every woman-related topic is just distasteful. Not necessarily appalling, just stupid.

*Yes, I am fully aware that Game of Thrones has 'fanservice'. But it also has anti-fanservice, ice zombies, and pregnant royalty getting abortions with swords. Not exactly the 'Natasha Kerensky pinup' sort of thing.

Yes well, people have different ideas of fun, some wanted scores, others to troll, some dresses up and buy a fuckton of decals. People waste money for hats too, not even in real life, TF2 became about hats.

As asinine as this idea may be, this is just a game. Supposed that they did this request? So what? How does that affect you -- it doesn't really right? Just don't think hard about it.

Without a chair to sit in your average Mechwarrior would be unable to support themselves because of their skinny little chicken legs. Those legs are embarrassing, about the size of a 10 year olds.

Maybe they skip leg day?

That cockpit is quite lacking in details to the sides. Makes the old tie fighter cockpits seem large and expansive. I miss that series.

Did you seriously just sit there and make this on MS paint? I really hope you did, because the dedication to weird behavior that this forum shows is amazing.

Kind of. I made it in GIMP a month ago under similar circumstances for a Discord chat. Thought some of you guys may appreciate it.

Not true. Give the pilot a noticable bust, then we'll not even notice the large hips.

Give the pilot a noticeable enough bust then we'll not be able to see the hips in the first place.

In any case, the majority of this game's players are male. For whatever level of immersion is possible in MWO, to maximize it the pilot has to conform to the majority of the player base. For PGI it's a simple business decision in a free market. Unless the SJWs are going to pay for all of our mechs, there's no reason for PGI to make the majority less immersed to please them. Virtue signalling is bad for business because no matter how fervently someone thinks people should think like they do, more people disagree with their wallets than are attracted by how 'socially conscious' a game becomes. First, foremost, and only, games are supposed to be fun.

Which is not to say that PGI couldn't have a toggle in the settings for male/female pilot. But it would have to be more than just supported by people, enough of them would have to actually use it to make it worth the effort for PGI to put it in. In any case, there's no way would they change the only pilot available to a female model.

The game doesn't even need a female model, since the current one doesn't display any kind of sexual characteristics under all of that cooling suit bulk. All we need are female voice lines for the command wheel.

Although the ability to customize your pilot suit would be cool I guess.

I know, right? Now comedians actually have to be funny instead of merely being offensive to the right people. What a drag.
