There's been a lot of hate and whining about mechs being able to hit from such a long range and you wouldn't be able to tell where it was coming from to the point where it had been removed (getting poked and you don't know where it's coming from still does happen but not as much), I myself never had issue with this because it's not really difficult to make out battlemech shape.

re adding Blue thermal/across map shouldn't really be a big problem unless you have trouble locating targets and position yourself in areas where you are prone to across map long range fire.

If you mean bringing back the old thermal imaging mode or re-adding it as an option for mc i'm all for the return of 'preador vision.'

I think the grey heat vision is depending too much on the screen people play on. I also think that night vision needs a different colour for colour blind mode - current one is just ********....

Personally, it was my defacto vision choice for pretty much all maps and modes. You could see your enemies in spawn on certain maps.

While it was cool, I can see why it was taken out back and shot. There was a clear advantage for using it over normal vision.

Ha, yeah. Spawn, start getting hit by gauss, then count the glowing eyes to see how many Atlai you were facing.

No, it was basically the only vision mode you would need to play in which would be boring

But, wouldn't long range heat vision make life even easier for said snipers?

I wouldn't mind predator vision over black and white, if they nerfed the range.

That's just too good.

Alongside decreasing the range of said vision, decrease its resolution too so you se a 'mech as an irregular blob instead of a defined silhouette.

I used to play in that vision mode 100% of the time. It probably helped me especially because I'm colorblind.

It was too strong as it was tho.

I agree with the idea of bringing it back in the old color scheme but with a nerfed range.

Wow, as a relative newbie I've never seen that. I agree it's too strong, and I doubt we'll ever see Enhanced Imaging for similar reasons.
If they do add another sense mode, it would probably be Magscan. However, doing that requires adding magnetic data to all the different maps, so.... no.

I wish this black and grey garbage we have now being called thermo is disgusting and frankly unreal..

Seriously has no one ever used real thermo...

actually the grey is a lot like the thermal imaging that the military today uses and often has a longer effective range than the color gradient type. at least that's how I think it works don't quote me on that, been over a decade since I was in the military.

They should just bury the function at the end of a long skill tree node chain like seismic is. That way there is an opportunity cost. On a related note, seismic is too expensive, nobody but lurmers or ECM has reason to invest in the sensory tree given the other options.

im fine with it being buried in the sensor tree

but enhanced imaging should be a clan thing only

and IS should get C3 as an IS thing only

Yes but fuzzier, cap the range to 1200m and add counter mechanics like thermal blocking smoke, / blinding flares, tag lasers blind you, a directional microwave weapon so you can heat a rock in the distance and some more good stuff that we are never gonna get cuz its not a mechpack

Predator vision with the same range that we have now would get my vote.
I hardly ever use heat vision any more, it just doesn't work with my eyes + my screen.
Night vision works better for me 95% of the time.
