So wait... Is it Mektek or MWLL devs that went on to Heavy Gear? I thought it was MWLL's guys that went on to HGA. So it was the Mektek guys?

Maybe that'd explain some of the smaller issues I saw that, far as I knew the MWLL guys probably knew better than to do.
(Either way you can see numerous MW game-style effects in the HGA.)

Wonder what the original MWLL guys are doing, then...

they werent shut down, they just not aloud to make updates. People could still play the game and still can today.

Its got mod support, it was actually made into a "huge" announcement in 2017. (Wait several seconds for it.)

And RE2, which isn't said to support mods...

Already has a few dozen mods; here's the development of "Play as Mr. X"

Also first person RE2.

It really doesn't take much. My favorite was one I thought of uploading as a joke, with "X gon' give it to ya" but I was like "I don't think anybody would appreciate the return of a mech channel with that as the debut." But there's a mod for it. Wait for "Knock knock" before you stop watching; it's gold!

a Union Dropship and be able to field 2 lances like MW4. if I'm able to play multiplayer with bots controlling some of the mechs even better. even though focusing on single lance operation works well in battletech because of the complexity, in a MW game 4 mechs is too few if you aim for variety, it forces every mission to be either a constant stomping of weaker enemies to make the game interesting or very short and repetitive missions to be a realistic representation of what a single lance is supposed to do.

fielding a full company would be interesting too, but only a very few missions, it will get boring if every mission turn into a full on messy brawl.

A full Hair Metal / Retrowave conversion.

There are a lot of people vocal that the games should be set in 3025, but all of that lore is written in the 80s. Flipping through any rulebook from that time period, you'll see lots of 80s hair, flight jackets, hazard striping, and VR-like terrain grids. A Mechwarrior game that doesn't run from the fact that Battetech was the future of the 80s, and instead embraces it fully, would be massively fun for me.

Bring back the black hose coolant vests and giant bucket-like neurohelmets, the gaudy paintjobs, etc. Maybe even find a way to fit a tron-like holovid simulator, as well.

First we must seeing which elements in the game and the performance.
Is infantry in game or bring alone this element the engine to her limit? How many units, effects and assets can handle the engine without problems. How complicated is the building of blueprints and the build of own biomes? Most modders have years of experience with engines and find each day a new problem that's not to handle.
Many modders have begun to work on mods for ARK survival with the UE4... The most stopped early her projects with to many problems, im self worked to models for a Prehistoric ARK project that's early stopped while the team leader not found enough member for it and to less help by problems with the blueprint system from UE4.
For big mods like full conversions like MWLl you must have a team of specialists and that's very hard to find and harder to hold over the lifespan of the project... Many leaves the project for real life or going to company's and bring her experience in. So to big wishes unrealistic. The UE4 is not a engine that's make modding to a easy job, like the cryengine it's a engine worth own problems and restrictions.

And mektek team is heavy gear arena... MWLL in the cryengine 3 is the wandering samurai team as devs.

Zergs brings copyright problems with blizzard! Blizzard by this not amused and stopped many starcraft mods, and that's who the zergs inspired from the wk40k tyranids and both from aliens.For BT is difficult to find a aliens/zerglike lifeform, and that's mod sounds more like a tower defense with mechs, and for that is give better games like alien breed

I suspect it's going to require PGI release some tools for the community. In the Dawn of War mod scene, especially for the DOWII, they had to wait for someone to create a tool to allow the importing of models. So it's really on PGI to deliver on a set of tools to allow something like that.

I would love to see someone model some of Alex's pirate mech art he's done. Especially the pirate Urbie.

And a further pipe dream would be to see someone mod in the ability to be your own faction. Especially if you added stuff like research for unlocking the various techs of BT and then having a production page like you do in some strategy games. Ohhhhhhhhh ::Nerd gasm::. That would be so good..

I wish we could get a Battletech game that is a cross between Total War and Hearts of Iron.

MWO Stockholm syndrome mod, to help with withdrawal.

Complete with ghost heat, hoverjets, placeholder UI elements and small randomly generated changes to weapons and mechs every 4 weeks.

MechWarrior 2/MW2:Mercs mod in MW5:Mercs would be pretty amazing! Considering the mechs in the game with the timeline, maybe even a MechWarrior 1 remake as well.

Walking in/out of mechbays (buildings), to defend base. Elemental s (that can land on your mech and do damage as well). Air combat, taking out mechs and aircrafts.

While I wholly agree, those aren't mods per se, those are DLCs :D

The "Mods" I would like to see:

1) Added Cool shots
2) Mini map center down like MWO instead of Top-left as it is now.
3) Editable company logo
4) Paint-schemes for dropship
5) Added dropship room - trophy room
6) Mech decals - but better implemented than MWO - think Need for speed vinyls, including company logo
7) Extra betty sound types, including male and female.
8) Extra lancemate pilot sounds - including male and female
9) Artillery and Air strike consumables
10) Selling mechs directly from cold storage
11) "Repair all" button that repairs all mechs that are not missing components, but only mechs with armor damage.
12) Build saving functionality.
13) Better character facial expressions and behavior - (Ryana, turn around when we're talking and I'm behind your back!)
14) RPG-like conversation arcs with Dropship NPCs - (hey Ryana, who's your captain baby? ;-) / hey Fahad, who's your daddy?)


And then there are some DLC-level challenges for Modders:

1) Union Dropship for use!
2) Solaris 7 mini-campaign - become a mech jokey legend!
3) Clan invasion - play as I.S. defender or Clan bondsman!
4) Mission Type - Escort! Don't let that mobile field base VIP die!
5) New and alien looking biomes - Mushroom forest, Asteroid, Caves, Underwater!
6) Custom mini-campaigns - turn multi-missions into actual story driven campaigns!
7) Pirate life! (Because everything's better with pirates)
8) Extra weapon effects for higher tier weapons
9) New enemy types - Infantry!
10) Melee combat! Fist-smash that mech right in the face
11) Play-on feature! If Mason's mech gets wrecked, have 10 seconds to pick one of your other fielded mechs to assume control off!
12) Multi-legged mechs?
13) Stand-alone DLC-level campaigns unrelated to the main story.
