When was the last time you saw a KDK or NTG in comp play? 2016? Huh...funny that.

No KDK but Gauss vomit NTGs were a thing in MWOWC2017, just for the sake of correctness.

I agree with the rest of the post though.

I voted no for sake of other people, not myself.

I have no problems with PPC/Gauss...its just I fear for other people being shot by it and what It might do to their enjoyment of the game. As long as there are some limits to it, its fine.

Bringing it back causes an issue where Clan mechs again get stronger since IS can't really mount any Dual Gauss PPC stacks(well none that I can think of off the top of my head except the 100 tonners).

For myself, I readily accept Gauss/Peep, but again...people I'm going to be shooting with it...theyre going to be miserable.

You feel like crying if you look at ppcs nowadays. Literally....you feel like crying.

In QPs fast paced, nascar-arcade-style-few minutes matches, you have insane cooldowns on ppcs.

Because ppl were crying too hard for too long about ppcs and/or gauss. They have been nerfing ppcs about 100 times in the last years. Over and oever and over again. I have no idea why. Even when they were considerably more useful with shorter cooldowns, not many ppl used them, let alone boat them in QP. And still, they have been massively nerfed. A sniper weapon. That has been majorily nerfed in arcade style, very brief matches.

I love ppcs. Love sniping.

But they arent a very good choice anymore. Not even in a summoner.

The cooldown is pathetic.

Mwo devs and most of the community hate sniping. Insane laser beam durations. even worse ppc cooldown durations. And massive fear off gauss.

Long range has always been hated by the community. ill never understand why ppl hate all long range weapons so much. Sadly, im one of three ppl that love sniping, love ppcs, gauss, ER LLs. I just clean the house brutally with fast, pin point brawlers or skirmishers. Basically winning the stats in every second round. Easily. I dont even have to focus. Run to nascar tail of team red....clean up. Kill evybody that doesnt know about nascar lanes.

In my sniper mechs?

Jesus christ, I have to work my bottom off to get good results. I have to work hard. Like seriously. It can be done. But its so ridiculously easy - by comparison - to just dominate stats with dmg and kills in non sniper builds, taht the only verdict left to say is:

Mwo devs and communty seriously hate sniping and long range weapons.

Why???

And why even be fan of a franchise when you hate part of it sooo much. Read the books. Just read the orignal books. There was a ton of long range combat. All the time. Just real the books. Its in there.

So stop hating that so much. Its part of the universe. Part of battletech.

Stop destroying ppcs and sniping in general.

not really.

weapons in MWO have x2 max range compared to their max ranges in battletech. plus range can be extended upto 35% beyond that with skill tree, quirks, and targeting computers.

most fighting in battletech took place at less than half the range it does in MWO.

battletech was mostly >500m fighting. you didnt have 1800m ERLLs like you do in MWO lol.

and people dont hate all long range in MWO. they mostly just hate long range PPFLD from x3-x4 Gauss/PPC. because its not fun getting hit by 40-50 damage from halfway across the map that you cant torso twist to spread around. And to a lesser extent people hate the ERLL because of its unnecessarily obscene range.

with this proposal the way it is now, the game will quickly devolve back into x3 PPC/Gauss poptarting builds. Because of high PPFLD at long range with minimal exposure time. And brawling isnt even receiving any significant buffs to act as counterplay to poparts (theres a bunch of useless 5% buffs that wont do anything). Not to mention a lot of brawling weapons like medium lasers have been severely nerfed in the last year and those nerfs arent getting undone.

Although Id probably be okay with x3 gauss/PPC if cgauss was nerfed more and brawling was stronger.

Fun fact: you cant pinpoint a moving target at higher ranges.

That ruins your convergence and weapons won't hit the same spot. Especially on mechs like the Night Gyr. That happens all the time.

so put your weapons in the same location.

x3 gauss/erppc is gonna let you stick 3 ppcs in the same location for example.

since all 3 ppcs will have the same point of origin convergence will have no effect on it and they will all hit the same location

then you use the other side of your mech with no weapons in it to deadzone

how is that flipflopping. im explaining to you that you can lead targets at long range without convergence making your weapons hit different locations.

Not all mechs can put 3 PPCs in the same location. And who cares about 3 PPCs, that's 30 PPFLD and doesn't violate safespace.

How do I put dual gauss and an ER PPC or 2 ER PPC and 1 Gauss in the same location so I don't have to worry about convergence so your initial point is actually remotely correct?

its 30 PPFLD + upto 15 splash damage on the clan side

upto 45 damage with 30 of it going into one place at long range is still fairly nasty.

IMO thats more than what should be allowed. Regardless of whether its coming from Gauss/PPC or just PPCs.

Especially when clan gauss isnt getting any significant nerfs and brawling isnt getting substantially buffed. Its just asking for a recursion of the poptart meta with little or no counterplay to it.

So, your saying, that your big concern is the 30 PPFLD + 15 splash of 3 cERPPCs and not dual Gauss ER PPC/dual ER PPC Gauss?

The thread is about Gauss-PPC. You cant pinpoint with it at longer ranges (except stationary lurmbobs).
You know your agument was shait, so you bring 3 PPCs into play, whats still a hot and heavy weapon combo (with heatsinks) and not Part of the discussion.
You are flipflopping. I cant take you seriously.

As far as I am aware, the way that PGI's system is built dictates us to choose between one of three solutions:

...

3 ---- 3x gaussPPC is allowed. 3x PPC is also allowed (no penalty). 4x gaussPPC is NOT allowed.

I'll take the compromise option. If only the linked poll allowed this choice...

I dont particularly care for either.

You can still pinpoint with it at longer ranges though. Just because its only 30 PPFLD and 15 splash damage doesnt make it not PPFLD. And not all mechs at long range are always moving. That is a ridiculous generalization on your part.

And what flipflopping are you talking about? I have not flipflopped on a single thing. My position has been consistent throughout the discussion.

I have never wanted x3 Gauss/PPC readded unless certain concerns were addressed. And so far they havent been. I feel thats fairly generous considering a lot of people wont even compromise on the issue of readding x3 Gauss/PPC. They just dont want it in the game period.
