If you launch the game from steam and then launch the mc purchase page you will get the steam browser if you then purchase the mc you will complete the transaction using your steam wallet

Oh wow! Ok let me try it...

Update: It didn't work, clicking "purchasing MC" lead me to the mwomerc.com purchasing MC website.

Apparently, there are some specific conditions that have to be met in order to allow it:

https://steamcommuni...46292761818058/

So I am guessing:
  • Install MWO via Steam
  • Add a credit card to your steam wallet
  • Make sure mwomercs.com/store loads in a STEAM browser, not your normal browser
  • This only seems to work for MCs or Steam DLC Performance Packs (so no normal mech packs)
I have some spare Steam Credits, so I'll test this out tonight.

Did it not load the website in the steam browser? Everything should be the same as when you go to that page in your normal browser excep when you press purchase it should lead you to your steam wallet

Make sure steam overlay is activated for MW:O.

You can check that by rightclicking MW:O in your steam library and choosing 'properties' from the context menu.
There should be a ticked checkbox on one of the option pages.

Or press (default) Shift + Tab while in MW:O, that should bring up the overlay.

Hi all,

Reporting in on my findings.

I got round to testing that method I found in https://steamcommuni...46292761818058/ ... And it didnt work for me...

However, I'd found something that did work:
  • Install MWO via steam
  • Enable Steam overlay
  • Add a credit card to your Steam Wallet
  • Wait 24 hours (my initial tests simply bought up the normal purchase screen offering Credit card/Paypal/Other)
  • Load up MWO, and when in your hanger, click Purchase MC button at the bottom left (where it shows your active Premium Time, Cbills, MCs and GXP)
This will automatically load up the Steam browser into https://mwomercs.com/profile/credits, but this time, when you click on a MC package, it will take about 5-10 seconds to load up a URL starting https://store.steampowered.com/xxxxx - which is the normal steam checkout page, thus allowing you to use your Steam Wallet balance.

Be warned though, the authentication is very flaky, when you click on Purchase MC again after a few matches, the UI initially doesn't realise your auth has expired. But the time it does realise, and tries to re-auth, it will fail. Exit MWO all the way back to desktop and try again (simply logging out and back in again is NOT good enough)

Hope this helps someone out.

It goes to mwomercs in steam-browser, and when you buy mc from it you use your steam-wallet.

Ok I haven't really try it out yet because I want to wait for the Retro Arcade Warhorn offer, but I already have some $$ in my Steam due to giftcard, so hopefully I can do it and don't have to wait for 24h. :(

Just a quick question. By using this method, you managed to get the Valentine's rewards? I am able to purchase it using the steam credits I have, just want to confirm that it is eligible for the special event rewards.

I didn't actually proceed with the transaction - I got it to go to the Steam checkout page that was offering to use my Steam Wallet balance.

I'm actually going to wait for the next bonus MC sale - I'm not really fussed about warhorns, as I'd rather get more MCs for my real £££
