As both a resident of California and one of the underpaid state workers who would be on the back edge of the front lines (data and analysis) of the response, I'd rather this not happen.

It would also put a pretty big crimp in my gaming time.

As for the topic title, I think it goes without saying that it's meaningless bluster. You don't have the standing to sue. The best anyone can do is to let go of their personal nostalgia and beg PGI, HBS and CGL to stop baiting HG.

Actually it's not bluster. I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is, but I'm not sure how I can legally put a barrier between HG and BT and its derivatives ect. Rather than being a negative nancy, please help me figure this out and maybe together we can accomplish some good.

Litigation by kickstarter (or whatever) is just not feasible.

Besides, at some point HBS and PGI will write a check just to make HG go the hell away and then they can get back to business. Frankly from my jaded hack attorney point of view, all three are idiots for not settling this sooner. They are all such small potatoes that the cost of this litigation is going to kill one or more of them -win or lose- if they don't get this thing dealt with before it goes to trial (which is why I know they will get this done before then).

I dont know. I was tossing the idea around, but I've just spent all day working. I'm as stated above, I'm really sick of this bully and I want to figure out how to get rid of them.

What if we called microsoft and asked them to take a stand for one of their own properties and champion the cause on PGI's behalf and become the white knight in the process in what could only be a positive PR move for the company? Stamping out HG could only be good for Microsoft, its licensees and everyone else who has any tangential interest in BT.
