people here claim that laser vomiting is a thing people do that in MWO, i yet have to see prove of this.

in my games only thing that exist are PPC, Guass and SRMs, people fit some lasers to combo with gauss why loss dps when they use it as backup weapon but overall not a single vomit build being played.

Lasers.
to much heat, not enough range, not enough DPS, to long face time, location revealer.
overall lasers are bad really really bad and are being over nerfed by PGI.

so when you are ready to go serious go Gauss

I see a solid mix of different weapons being brought.

In the last few hundred games I have seen at least one or two laser vomit mechs so they are pretty popular.

However if laser vomit was as a serious problem as we're meant to believe, the KDK 1 2 4 and 5 would be seen more often than the KDK 3 or at least more often than never. Banshee's are gone too and I rarely see a Battlemaster. I also rarely see a RGH 3A or GHR or BLKNT or anything bigger than a Medium with laser vomit on the innersphere side. So far I see Hellbringers plenty and that is about it.

If they don't want laser vomit to dominate, they should refrain from nerfing ALL the other weapon systems. The last few UAC nerfs haven't helped things. They're only worth taking if you can bring 3 or 4 of them. SRMs got hit as well, and they are already splash damage. Now they're hitting MRM30s because they over perform? Have you seen their spread? Who cares if you can pump out 60 damage if you're hitting EVERY component.

You don't see Kodiaks because their mobility is crap. You also rarely see IS laser vomit because most of those builds top out around 50 alpha while clan laser vomit is 64-78 alpha.

I use a few "laser vomit" builds on my clan account

Hellbringer and Marauder IIc are the best performing Both are twin heavy large lasers + er mediums.

Puking out nearly 80 damage a trigger pull is pretty potent.

you dont really even see KDK3s anymore either though. the kodiak is basically dead.

its largely been replaced by the madcat MK2-B for the x2UAC10/x2UAC5 builds.

the kodiak is a good example of what happens when you nerf a mechs agility so badly thats its no longer fun to play. people dont play it anymore, and just move on.

for laser vomit the hellbringer is one of the best mechs IMO.

thats assuming laser vomit is fine where its at now. I think the CHLL really pushed laser vomit over the top. 80 damage alphas are too much. They need to reel that in. Especially since the biggest IS laser vomit alphas are only like 55 damage.

that and they need to unnerf agility like Ive been saying all along. taking away mechs' ability to torso twist is a big part of the problem.

FP is actually far better representation of what is meta. QP is a joke of a mode where people can play LRM mechs with their feet and still do 500 damage. Hence people have no need to tryhard in QP as much.

I'm seeing quite a few Marauder IICs, Hellbringers and Ebon Jaguars with laser vomit builds in solo QP.

I even ran a laser vomit Hellbringer for the event last week, it was hilarious easy mode.

I see clan vomit in nearly every match, even aside from the fact that I'm bringing it myself 90% of the time... I have other mechs, I sometimes play those other mechs, then I under-perform and go back to my clan vomit. I simply can't find anything that I perform as reliably and consistently with as clan lasers. I can do nearly as well with mixed CERPPCs/ERMLs, but pure laser vomit is better.

I also came up in a time in MWO and around a lot of comp guys where hit-scan weapons were king, so I'm just used to lasers being dominant and reliable. I'd love it if I could use other weapon types and have fun/make space bucks, but it never works out for me.

The OP of this thread is wrong, but for the love of the Immortal God Emperor please don't try to balance the game off of CW play. CW has always been considered absolutely irrelevant to balance (by reasonable people at least) because of its design differences from the rest of the game.
