Hi all! I must confess I love LBX-10s. I run 2 on one if my Warhammers and a Bushwacker. I am interested in trying out a 3x LBX-10 build. I do not want to use my Cyclops S or Mauler, so I am looking at the standard variant of the loyalty Victor (9A1) or the Nightstar 9P. I am not in love with my other Nightstars...a bit squishy and very wide, but hear the 9P might actually be good with the 4x ballistics points. I also did not enjoy Victors, but have not played them for years.

Any recommendations from folks who have tried these two mechs and loadouts out?

Thanks!

The Victor plays really, really well with Triple AC/10s. I assume it could run LB-10Xs as well as any Nightstar could.

Unfortunately, the 9A1 is no longer available for C-Bills. Unless you picked up up already.

AC-30 is amazing, even with an XL and unmastered.

Yep, I know about 9A1...willing to spend real money even though $18 seems a bit steep for one mech.

Are you asking if you should spend $18 for a Victor, or $15 for a Nightstar?

C'mon, you've been here long enough to know that $18 for a mech that doesn't even have a c-bill bonus, xp bonus, unique camo, etc. is a ripoff.

The only reinforcements that are ctually priced reasonably are the $3 Urbie and maybe the $8 Linebacker (kinda pushing it though). Somehow the Kit Fox and Griffin cost more than the Linebacker, and I'll never know why or how...

The Cataphract Iliya muromets is the best tripple lbx 10 carrier.
https://www.mechspec...2xsl-xl280.203/

I downsize the engine and use 2 medium lasors. With full armor quirks, this thing is a massive threat on the battlefield. I run the same fit on my victor and its just not as good as the old Cataphract.

Got it guys and agree. I was not and am not asking if the mechs I mentioned are worth the dollars. That is up to me. I am looking for performance preferences and info between the two mechs I mentioned. Any advice to the performance is greatly appreciated, the money was only mentioned due to the availability question a responder raised.

Thanks again.

Wait what?

I missed quite a bit during a hiatus but you're telling me that they introduced a new variant for the Victor, a chassis that was starting to lag even when I took my hiatus way long ago, and then took it away?

I could see them making the Kit Fox more expensive than the Linebacker if it had a C-Bill bonus. Triple AMS with a 30% earning bonus coud rack you up a lot of cash quickly. At least in tiers where LRMs are used anyways. Without the earnings bonus though? Absolutely no idea. The only thing they have in common is ECM, which would make sense if this was five years ago when ECM was still insanely OP.

You can actually run a Nightstar with 4 LBX10s. And it's one of the reasonably good builds the Nightstar can support.

Bruno- I like your Ilya build, but I cannot pull the trigger on an XL engine to fit the LBXs. I just think it is a bad idea. I prefer a LFE which leaves me with the slowest Cataphract ever or the need to bump up the tonnage.

Thanks for sharing your build and experience though.

MechLord, the Cataphract has so much armor quirks and its ct is a massive bullet spung. Trust me you rarely die from a side torse death and if you do you will already, pumped out your share of the damage. As a Cataphract fanatic I would not stear you wrong. Only thing wrong with it is its low arms but its also a blessing for shooting those fast moving lights.
Check out its armour after its fully quirked, its a mini atlas.

Don't own the night star, altho It is a cool looking mech. But taken down many while I play the others. Too squishy for its own good.
The 9a1 Victor may not be as tanky as the other Victors but boy is that thing a beast. I wholly support u using the 9a1

Where can one buy the VTR 9A1? I don't see it for sale anywhere.

For $18 of real money you can go to the store tab on the top of this web page, then gift store, then reinforcements. However, paying the price of a standard mech pack (3 variants + 3 mech bays + 30 days premium + other junk) for only a single variant would be a little silly.

They were available in the in-game store for C-Bills a short time but got removed because apparently the loyalty mechs were posted too early (even though the patch notes had an entire section dedicated to highlighting them).

Ah I see. Thanks Fup!

That is pricey for regular mech. Are VTRs still AssMechs?

I haven't used them much but currently they seem okay from seeing them in action a bit, albeit build-dependent. Regardless of performance $18 just ain't worth it for a single standard variant.

Just got home this is my fit, so you know I'm not joking.
My fit https://mwo.smurfy-n...da4e8f662762ad5
You have 6 1/2 tons of ammo, with full Armor Quirks you have 80 armor both Torsos and 119 on the Ct. You might be slow but you pack a punch. With full ammo quirks you have 156 shell's, its just enough. Best thing is you don't get focused cause no one will shoot you when you are standing next to an Assault. Great mech, have pulled a few 1200 damage games in it. Great work horse the old Ilya Muroments, still my go to mech, when I'm having a bad day. Its not Meta so people will not recommend it, cause it does not have 'HIGH MOUNTS". gl bruno

The armor helps, but I'd still be super sketched out by the XL.
