Well in a 1v1 or 2v2 match not only will game play change but load-outs for sure, no need for 12 tons of ammo,
higher alphas?
more ballistics ?

I wonder if the chance to take lites against assults will happen?

will we ever see a 24 mech death match?

anyway what do you think you will drive ?

Brawlers of all types. I've been wanting to use them more for so long now, but quick play 12v12 environments just aren't good for it unless you have a coordinated team with you and the right map for it.

It's hard for me to guess. I think brawler builds will emerge initially, but the Solaris "meta" probably will evolve over time.

Ok
first off Ill use my TDK with 4 Med lasers, but I dont expect it to do well in a 1v1 or 2v2 , its more of a harasser mech and it really only works when I have a team that takes advantage of the havoc it causes.

Im thinking Mechs that have more ballistics hard points but couldnt carry much ammo , but if Im hunting only 1 mech I wont need that much and can use the space for heatsinks or more guns.

^1 vs 1 with Assaults ..RACs can make wonder :D its only a short fight and not more as 4 Enemys

I wonder how prevalent 1-shot rocket builds will be, and flamer-based builds as well.

I figure the first week will be full of cheese builds before they get nerfed.

What's the point of a Solaris mode without cheese builds ... or copious amounts of skullduggery? Posted Image

Let's put it this way: If I were certain that this game's balance was in a very good place, I'd be less worried about cheese builds Posted Image

Somehow I don't think a 1-ton weapon that can auto-shutdown the enemy 'Mech as soon as it fires one weapon was designed and balanced for 1v1.

Bet I could give you a run for your money in my Baltimore Cruiser...

It's funny, like MWO I gravitated towards the catch all units... Love me my Cruisers... can't standing playing Battleships or Air Craft carriers.....

Considering both combatants can choose (or not choose) that same 1-ton weapon, that's good enough "balance" for me.

I expect to see a lot of splat builds like the LBX+SRM scorch.

So, maybe something with PPCs to hit the splatters from outside range, depending on map size.
