Is there tonnage matching or can you drop light vs assault etc?

I mean it's going to be very risky dropping in a heavy or assault brawler if you can randomly face a 1erll locust or something.

Because it is Solaris, assume tonnage or weightclass matching.

It's probably going to be primarily "division" matching, based on the peak performance of the variant in question. Big robots will probably have a higher division rating on average, but there will probably be a bit of crossover.

I wonder how prevalent 1-shot rocket builds will be, and flamer-based builds as well.

I figure the first week will be full of cheese builds before they get nerfed.

My intended mechlist for now (mostly brawlers)

Linebacker
Mauler
Hunchback 2C
Stormcrow
Awesome (For low level lols)

(Maybe's)
Kodiak
Crab
Orion 2C
King Crab w/ 6MGs (If flamer boating becomes rampant)

There better be crossovers, and not just "a bit", or things will get boring real fast.

There probably will be between lights and mediums, Mediums and heavies, and heavies and assaults, but I doubt you'll see lights or mediums mixed with assaults.

Although the Awesome exists so maybe?

I probably will not change my builds all that much. I favour Heavy and Assault Brawlers.

I was thinking if the opened an event with more than 1v1 or 2v2 , say 12 to 24 , but no teams and the clincher........
think if they give the win to last 2 mechs standing ??? think of the strange bedfellows or the stab in the back , ?

that would make it worth watching just to see who you could trust or not.

Linebacker, full armor quirks, 9 HMLs. You can't alpha but you can left/right click for 90 damage and you won't melt yourself in the process. You can actually do this twice before overheating.

I can see a few builds bubbling up. Brawlers are obvious because they can close distance much more easily. UAC boats have an obvious advantage at middle range, and very high DPS. But these may be countered by MRM builds (screen shake FTW). Yes LRM works too, but that's got way too many obvious vulnerabilities. But a well built brawler is not worse than your typical MRM spam build up close, so the edge there would likely come down to how much damage an MRM player can eke out while the brawler closes. I don't see ATMs working too well unless there is a serious terrain advantage. I'd say >50% of the time, the non-ATM guy will close to 60 meters successfully (jump jets + praying that your enemy crosses through open terrain is a weak strat). Laser vomit is trash because you're gambling you don't run up against a brawler build that will charge into your face and force you to use your abysmal heat-adjusted DPS and spread-out damage to fight.

So basically, I predict: Brawlers, UAC boats, and MRM boats.

Honestly, if I ever do try the mode, I'll likely take my flamer/HMG/HSL Nova and murder people....

I prefer the AC20 Snub-nose PPC for quicker shoot and twist, but yeah, this mech should shine!

I play one with 6 Rocket Launchers to troll in quick play (also 3 LRM10 for something to do before crushing one target). It melts assaults in one shot. I tried 7 Rocket Launchers but it would only fire 6 ofthem at a time. Might be a hard cap or might thave been because of all the ghost heat you shut down before the last one can fire.

Hey Finn, all of those MWO pilots that left:.....well, guess where at least a 100 are !!!! We're talking about MWO when we are some game else.... There are at least two MWO clans in that game formally. No ADHD, its the reality of chasing thousands of pilots away and it is simply where MWO players are at the monent and what we are playing !!! We'd love to be playing MWO as often as we did !!! We use to have team play three nights a week and trials and training sessions and.................fun (sigh).

Sadly, there's little reason to play more that an hour a week now and only if there is an event. We all meet up and drop maybe three times (no FP) and they go back to one of the "other" games.... Sorry !

What kind of mechanics are in-place to prevent ERLL jump snipers from getting to a spot that you cant shoot back at them?

Probably a lack of such spots on the solaris maps.
