Anything resembling a second-line mech is going to get crushed. Equipment that normally isn't viable is going to be very popular. IS XLs are going to be very common. An XL on an Atlas against twelve enemies is a death sentence. Against two enemies? Far more manageable. We are going to see far more rocket launchers as well. Less ammo for ballistic and missile weapons mean that some of the weapons in that build can be upgraded. We're going to see way more Small Pulse Lasers and Medium Pulse Lasers than you normally do due to shorter ranges, shorter matches, and presumably more cover.
I'll be dusting off my Centurions and Awesomes. Those things never ran well in XLs but now? Much better, no doubt. When you consider their tier placements there are some overlooked mechs that will just wreck. The Awesome-8V and 8Q, both of which I own, are considered some of the worst mechs in the game, and not without reason. Lets try something different with it though, shall we?

These builds would be suicide in Quickplay but in Solaris? Well, still not amazing, those hand actuators and that 300 engine cap have always been a serious detriment to the chassis. But considering in which tier that they'll be placed? And considering that they're actually surprisingly deceptively agile? I'm sure that I'll surprise a fair amount of people when the barn brings three HPPCs down upon them.
Anything that can even hypothetically move at 90 KPH with an AC20 is suddenly going to be doing fairly well. I'd wager that we'll see a return of a lot of old favourites too. My guess is the Cataphract and the Highlander, particularly the one that can mount an AC20 and two HPPCs on the same side with a ton of rockets in the other. We'll see a return of the Catapult-A1 Splat Cat. The Jagerbomber is going to be cropping up again as well and with a sibling as well, the Jagermech-A. Four RL20s, two AC5s, two LLs, and an XL300 - it'll be a like a stock Rifleman that did some steroids and then after that went through the hyperbolic time chamber.
Honestly I'm excited. Not only do I like a lot of the lower tier mechs but this could bring back a lot of nostalgia builds that were semi-viable before the clans were in the game.

The BR team uses SPKTR as their clan designator if I'm not messing up their call sign. Knight of Hades is a good way to contact them in this game or in that game. I'm a member of BR but my brothers are all ex-navy so I'm running with them....... I have a great love for BB's and as a hobby, have studied how they were actually made since my GF's and freat uncles worked for Bethlehem Steel and they cast the armor and 16/14" guns for them....... It was nice to tour the New Jersey for an entire day (Camden NJ) and know my family had a lot to do with the Armor and guns the Iowa and South Dakota BB's used were touched by a lot of family.....
When I play, people notice the Asym and contact me because of my posts on the forum. So far, 42 people have messaged me. I'm close to 100 with others.
We love MWO. And, many of the guys I ran with this past year started from the beginning. ARK and Planetside 2 seem to be where or have large gatherings of MWO players are as well. A few went back to Fallout 4 with the mods to have another go at it. Another team I was on all went to Elite Dangerous (cause we were all part of Eve when it came out) and are still there in force....
Look Knight up or me when I am out there most nights ! Love to division up with MWO pilots because they seem to be better equiped for WoW than many others I've played with.... Hope to see you out there !

You're all planning Solaris wrong. Where is the fun -- and profit -- in killing them with one shot?
You should be aiming to leg the enemy before dismembering them limb by painful limb. <maniacal >
