I'm in favour of full random maps/modes these days.

I liked the voting when it was introduced, because we had maps like old Terra Therma which desperately needed a rework.

Now the maps are fine, but the voting kills the diversity.

I would not have a problem with random maps if we could vote on the mission.

I think it would be best to get rid of voting period. As much as i dont like conquest i will hapily play it if it means random maps. The problem right now is there are too many cold maps. With the voting gone and now with random map/mode it will prevent people from voting cold maps with their heat heavy builds. Another thing that needs to be adressed is more hot maps are required.

PGI can set up a donation page so that people can donate and earn a cockpit item or decal/profile image for their contribution.

Another thing pgi could do is allow the community to make maps, it worked for killing floor it should work here.

Real reason, why we play on the same maps now - because PGI forces this same maps to be voted for. It's all about "Ok, it's Polar, River, City, Frozen, i.e. I have no choice, cuz Frozen is only bearable map".

Real problem - all maps were balanced in the past. They had ways to play both with long range and short range builds. You could snipe, but maps had enough cover to get closer and smash this snipe/LRM boats. But at some point PGI decided to change all maps. And now all maps have completely open center. And this promotes ER-LL/ER-PPC/Gauss/LRM Meta. And this simply not interesting for majority of playerbase, cuz it's not MWO - it's something like AWP duels in CS. I.e. majority of playerbase tends to pick maps, where long and short range Metas are balanced enough. It's Canyon, HPG, Mining, Turmaline, etc. - i.e. old maps, that wasn't scrapped, mostly. And instead of fixing map design PGI decided to force "bad" maps - they implemented "Force unpopular maps" feature. And now whole voting is about "Pick only bearable map".

And as I have already said thousands of times - random map rotation won't fix this problem. It will only force majority of playerbase to quit this game. And why do you think, that map rotation will be truly random? We have "pseudo-random" rotation now - we will have it, when it will pretend to be "random". I.e. same crappy maps over and over again.

If they would include the old maps at 8vs8, and allow voting for mission, or pay a bonus in C-Bills for playing unpopular missions on unpopular maps. Either option A or B solves alot.
