OMG thank you for posting that comic, I've actually forgotten about it and wanted to have a copy!

I deal with scenarios every day where I have to essentially "prove" transactionally that Keys = 5 for a specific reason (or something like that) so I err on the side of having things auditable so that if/when things go south I can show the customer unequivocally that *IT WASN'T MY FAULT!!!!* :D

Is this a dead horse, well beaten? yes, yes it is. I'll stop now since none of this answers how they would have a "key sale" and then distinguish between discount keys and full price keys for a refund w/o coding *something* new just handle the difference...

THAT is why software developers drop 32 bit support. Why are we wasting time/money supporting obsolete tech for cheapskates who aren't a source of revenue to us.

Kind've an abrasive way of putting it, but yeah you're not wrong. Supporting both a 32-bit and 64-bit client takes up valuable dev time that could be spent on something else. For example not having to spend time testing changes against both the 32-bit and 64-bit clients means devs can spend time finding and squashing other bugs or even going home to see their families which improves studio morale.

Just one little thing, people that got the caches earned them, it was supposed to be a reward, but at least for me it never was, having to spend real money to unlock them, because key events were rare, and the casino part of it never worked as a true reward, and so I stopped opening mine, it just wasn't worth it, so I think that now that you acknowledge that it was a broken system you would show some love to people that earned them, dont need much, but I think the free opening of the ones you own would be fair, and maybe now people could get some reward from what they earned, thank you.

Fixed that for you. Never worked for the ones I got, just played game as usual.

If you didn't want to open them (cause MC, which I understand) then you could just sell them, which already is the "small reward" you mentioned. Sell = small C-Bill reward. Open = gambling for MC.
So why would there be any kind of justifiable claim to a bigger reward for just hoarding them?

Actually.... people who got Caches were RNG selected from the winning team. they did not "earn" them. and honestly, they're getting cash for any unopened ones. PGI coulda swapped over to the new system and not given you a damn thing, but they chose to be nice about it.

Though technically some were earned via events/challenges... though to be fair PGI typically had equivalent Key challenges so every box you earned you typically could earn a Key as well.

And then there was an event where you could earn something crazy like 40-50 Keys right?

My fellow Mechwarriors, after reading most attentively your much appreciated inputs, I recognize in them an ill feeling, being not my intention to cause grievance and since my post was not directed at you, I was a bit surprised by your reaction, in fact my suggestion intended to be a positive one, not affecting anyone in a negative way, but for me no reward of any kind is worth having two fellow Mechwarriors Indisposed , even for a wee bit, so I apologize for hurting your feelings and I remove myself from the litigation of the matter, much obliged.

IF eliminating 32 bit support lets them implement any change that would only work once the game goes completely 64 bit... like improving the Hit registry even 10%... that would be worth it.

64 bit will not affect hit registry, or any other in game function. It will only allow them to add more cosmetic aspects to the game, like the bolt on armor, mainly things they want to try and get players to spend money on, that don't actually make the game play any better. The part I find odd to the 64 bit announcement is that the moment Mechwarrior 5 is announced as completed, Mechwarrior Online will be fully obsoleted, so why bother with this now. If they haven't already put significant work into porting Mechwarrior Online into the Mechwarrior 5 engine then they are already headed for trouble.

If MW5 is PvE w/ no multi player, it won't be completely obsolete...

The MW:5 game engine will be superior, and it will draw significant players away from MW:O. Many players will not like going back to an inferior game engine. They will basically have one of their products make their other product look old and obsolete. That's not going to bode well for the older, inferior looking product, multiplayer or not.

According to what's been announced, MW5 will have PvE co-op, no PvP
