I doubt your crusade for "unfunning" even more weapons will be popular. But good luck.
I don't really understand how a game can be fun again when everyone is trying to make the weapons less "unfun" leading to less playtime (e.g. you die too fast) and leads to severe power imbalance with boats on the top.
The gameplay relies on weapon mechanics and players "fun" comes from a good experience when shooting stuff and playing game modes, less than quitting the game early due to insta-death alphas.
Focusing on more "fun" of the weapons will not solve the balancing issues.
I guess you already know, but I think buffing stuff can only lead to more "unfunning" the battles themselves, because you are essentialy still doing the power creep to see what build can one-shot (exageration) people and which build is useless.
Not sure if your goal is to only look at the small picture of "now" where you feel some weapons need to be buffed to be more fun (e.g. can kill faster), or if you (anyone) has the overal gameplay in mind when suggesting changes.

There's surely more. Like Osiris, Hellspawn (better than people give it credit for), Cougar, other Centurion builds, the HBK-4SP, Ice Ferret, QKD-4H, WHM-7S...
... it's not quite as bad as you make it out to be. Revert PGI's nerfs to artemis and SRM spread, and these builds will be viable/competitive again.
So yea 3 SRM6 are still good (especially on fast mechs), now let's go further and try 2x SRM6, or a single one? Not gonna be the best you can bring, so you don't do that.
Bring the biggest boat you can with the limits of HP, tonnage and Ghost heat, that's what all the builds are about currently.
All i can see is "bigger is better" all the time and I don't see that as fun, or i would play FPS games (like quake and shoot railguns all the time).
