Did my ears deceive me or did Russ just announce the dumbest thing I've heard in months from PGI?

Seems odd to have a two week shutdown of an entire gamemode. I really don't want to watch the stream so I will just ask- Did Russ give a reason why?
a) PGI hardware limiations?
b) software limitations?
c) just because?

I have no interest in Solaris7 type matches, guess Quickplay will suffice for that two weeks.

Sure, don't log on... but... if 100 people stop logging on due to faction play but 500 people log on specifically to check out Solaris, Russ will just see the net gain...

Id be okay with a short shutdown if it was for an fp update. But litterally its just for the solarus launch a bs reason. Shut down the alternatives to give a false amount of player interest in the new mode.

Bosses that hang out with the team after work actually have to get drunk, otherwise they have to be absent from the party. If they are at the party and sober, it makes it hard for everyone else to relax.

PGI has a bar night on Fridays with the team together.
