Glad to see that I am not the only one not getting kills registered.

I feel cheated. I know the Urban Block cammie pattern isn't the best, but I was looking forward to it. Completed and redeemed, and.... do I need to blow someone at PGI or something? Does the reward not show up until the event is over? Kinda not feeling the point of doing events if they don't give you anything for it. Pretty pointless.

You need to apply the pattern to a 'mech you own. Of course the prize applies only to the chassis you completed the challenge for (i.e. if you completed the Jenner challenge, any and all IS Jenners you may own, not the Clan ones). Just go to 'mechlab -> camo spec, select the Pattern tab, and then select "owned" on the radio button above the tabs. You should see all patterns that you own for that chassis now and be able to apply them to your 'mech. Don't forget to select colors for it, patterns may not be visible with the default color selected.

thx for that; can you pls have a look into whatever template you use there for future events? same thing happened the last few events; would be great if future events "won't hold onto that tradition" ;)

Hey, Matt! Thanks for fixing the Event's Challenge Requirements to adjust for the problem. :)

Pardon my inquisitive curiosity, but what broke the New Events System from accumulating both Kills and KMDDs onto the same Meter? I remember it working properly before, so it's confusing that it got broken again.

That's exactly what I thought. I completed the challenge with my Mist Lynx. Apparently it takes a few hours for the reward to show up. Just checked again and now it's there. Thanks for the reply. :D

Look up 6 posts from this one. There's a bug with the Event. So, they've decreased the final total you need and called for 'KMDDs Only' because they are unable to fix it in another way right now. You'll have to target KMDDs for the timebeing, and hope things are better by the time a Future Event comes along. Sorry that you don't like the resolution, but it's better than nothing. :(

They removed kills and reduced the required number. It's still KMDD only, but now that's all that you should be trying for.

I read the main splash page for both the IS and the Clan mechs for the Trial By Fire challenge...I wanted to confirm, can you do this event in both Quickplay and Faction Play?

Right now I'm assuming you can, so long as you can meet the requirements for chassis and objectives in that chassis (kill assists, kills/KMDDs, victory).

Edit: I found the Quick Play only game mode specification inside the in game event browser, before you select the specific event. Just did not initially see that when browsing the website and looking at actual event objectives. I totally space cadet'ed and forgot where to look for event mode. Now I know where to look for game mode on an event and knowing is half the battle.

Last I saw you can only do it in QP, that bit of info is in the in-game system, not on the website.

Please check the In-Game Event Browser in the future. Unfortunately, this Event is Quick Play Only. :(

I really hope you guys FIX this issue instead of just putting on a band-aid like that.. KMDD's are not easy to do for everybody.. This event just got a lot harder for most new people and light mech pilots..

only counting kmdds here too

On which mech?

On some mechs, KMDDs definitely don't count. On others, it may. I could just be confused by it all, but it seems like different mechs are having things count differently.

Yes, We have had other events which worked with the Kill / Kill most Damage Dealt Stat.

These stats work
  • UserMechClassStats - KillKMDD (Light, Med, Heavy, Assault)
  • UserMechStats - KillKMDD (Variants: JR7-D, HBK-4P ETC)
  • UserStats - KillKMDD (Pilot)

This one was Bugged
  • UserMechModelStats - KillKMDD (Jenner, Hunchback, ETC)

This was the Test Case of the original bug which was fixed, tested, and resolved.
  • Create an event with UserStats - KillKMDD stat
  • Start a match and kill a 'Mech without doing most damage
  • End the match
  • The kill won't be counted in the progress
  • Only KMDD will be tracked

Test 1:

  • Obtained 1 Kill + 4 KMDD = Counted 4 towards progress

Test 2:

  • Obtained 4 Kills + 1 KMDD = Counted 1 towards progress

Test 3:

  • Obtained 0 Kill + 1 KMDD = Counted 1 towards progress

Test 4:

  • Obtained 1 Kill + 0 KMDD = Counted 0 towards progress

This Issue was associated with all Stats that contained KillKMDD except one.
The stat "UserMechModelStats - KillKMDD" was a new stat and was not included in the test case :(

Again Sorry for the issues on the event :|
Hopefully, I can make it up to you with Lucky Charms 4 coming later this month!

Regards,
Matt N
