you might not.

but the fact remains millions of people play Overwatch. MWO not so much.

MWO peaks at what? 1500 players? lol.

so yeah I stand by what I said. More people enjoy playing Overwatch than MWO.

MWO's problem is that people dont want to play it. Because its not fun at all anymore. its bad. like really bad. And thats the honest truth.

And yeah the balance issues contribute. But they arnt the #1 problem. The problem is the gamemodes just arnt fun. Theyre shallow and insubstantial. You dont exit out of a game with a fulfilling experience. Playing this game has become a soulsucking mindnumbing experience where the biggest payoff is pressing alt-F4.

And Solaris isnt going to change that. Just make it worse IMO.

Speak for yourself, man. I still enjoy the game.

Interestingly I do still like the game as well, but I have to say that's it's _despite_ the various match modes not because of them. The match modes as they are currently implemented are just a thin veneer of annoyance and an opportunity for players to **** up on top of team deathmatch mode.

The modes need to be a lot deeper and more interesting, but hey 'minimum effort' and all.

Don't count quantity for quality. In this regards I mean specifically, BT and MW have always been niche and wouldn't garner numbers like other franchises or gametypes even if mwo was perfect. I find mwo to be still quite fun even after all the changes. You may want to stop speaking in absolutes.

I absolutely abhor what Overwatch has become. It was fun at launch, but in typical Blizzard fashion, they began changing things for the sake of changing things, and it lost a lot of the entertainment value. Add on the absolutely terrible average player (who were generally either a humongous jerk or just totally awful at the game, and sometimes both) and it became the least fun game I have played in the last couple years. MWO is better off for having a smaller population, because it means even if the proportion of potatoes and toxic players is the same, there are numerically FAR fewer of them.

That said, I like MWO because it's more slow-paced than other shooters, it has the mechlab, and it gives me a place to fight other stompy robots. That's really all I want.

Do great and lose, and your skill might get you a tiny spec upward. Do terrible and win and you'll still go up higher than the player that did great but lost.

Actually, you'll get no positive gain on tier if you do terrible and win. I was actually testing out builds and strategies for my Light Tanking guide when PSR hit, so I got swept to the tail of of tier five by the time I was done, since it takes ridiculous amounts of Flamer time to wrack up enough damage to count. (That was back before the nerf, by the by.) Add that to only playing Quickplay with events and I spent a good year in tier five and four.

That is only partially correct. There is no gain (break even) if 100 MS or less on a win.

Yes, if you get a chance to shoot and hit a light with 4 PPCs, you can wreck lights. But what's the TTK of a piranha on your back vs your time to rotate around? And that's a Warhawk, consider the 100 tonners. I'm not saying an assault can't beat a light, I'm just saying that most of the time it isn't a heads up fight.

Sure. But a light doesn't have to be an overall better pilot to kill a heavier mech. Backstabbing an Atlas with a Piranha doesn't mean that Piranha is some drastically better pilot. The game is balanced in a way that gives lights some advantages against bigger, slower targets.

Pir´s TTK aint fast enough to hinder me .
Many have tried, very few have succeeded .
