As the title states will you? I really hope so, if not in beta at least at launch.

Will you be able to see the weapons you attach to your mech?

You are showing 2 different variants of the Mech. The top could have 2 PPCs, 2 Med Lasers, 2 Large Lasers, etc. You can tell the type of weapons, ballistic, energy, or missiles, but not the specific weapon.

If it is like any other mechwarrior video game, no. But as you can see from the screenies, the variants look different.
If its like mechwarrior 4, shooting a gauss looks totally different from shooting an ac20 though.

They have answered this question several times, but I'm too lazy now to dig it out. They plan to implement it until release (I guess step by step while beta runs), so you can distinguish weapon types, except the lasers that are embedded in the torso or racks where only the lenses show, so you'll have to watch the colour of the laserbeam. All other weapons shall be distinguishable by looks.

Not at the beginning. Only different variants have different models as shown above.
Another example would be the Hunchback and the Swayback .There was a picture of a Hunchback with 6 Laserbarrels where the AC 20 normally is. And the new Caustic Valley Video shows a Hunchback with SRM Launchers.
But if you change those variants there won't be any apparent changes. But the Devs stated that they would want to introduce this later on.
