2xUAC10+4xERML with 5 tons of ammo:

Pretty close to my best matches in a similarly outfitted Marauder IIC which is 15 tons heavier. Not bad for a squishy 70-tonner which many people here have already labeled DoA. Took a while to get used to those side torsoes made of tissue paper, though. And I'm still extremely unhappy with how hitboxes are distributed between the CT and the STs. If and when PGI fix those, this will be a really solid mech.

Smaller version of the MkII 1, nice. I thought of using that load out myself.

Why would they do it I wonder?

Worst game of NASCAR I've played in months TBH. 3 laps of the G7/F8 region. Spent more time running than actually shooting that game.

Good damage though.

That said when you manage to stay up the front of the NASCAR and just shooting backs (without mechs really shooting back at you), it makes it a lot easier to get dmg in.

I find the Sunspiders incredibly easy to torso even from a front-on position. If someone turns then it's impossible to miss. Honestly shooting at them, they feel like glass for a Heavy mech.

You know I am not saying that PGI shouldn't give the Sun Spider some torso armor quirks but spec'ing deep into the Survival Tree works wonders. Full tree adds buffs the side torsos up pretty significantly adding roughly 15% more armor and structure the enemy has to carve through before they can take out the ST. Spec'ing the full tree made a huge difference in how tanky the Sun Spider feels.

Your match score isn't too bad, either ;) And yeah, that was a weird match. On a few occasions I actually found myself at the tail end of the nascar, and thought I was done for. But somehow I managed to push the build as far as it would go in that match. Even fired my last remaining rounds of ammo literally a second before another friendly finished off the last enemy mech. So this is pretty much the limit of the build, at least in my hands.

Yeah but it's expected from a MC-B TBH. I spent more time running, literally, before their 3 meds caught me... Just ridiculous game.

If everyone just stopped NASCAR we legit, would've had a 12-2 game.

Ah well, win is a win :)

Yeah I don't really understand the Nascar mentality either. I mean it makes sense for the fastest mechs to try and flank but the whole team? At some point you just need to stop and form a firing line and push into the enemy.

Sure, if all you want to do is take punishment like a masochist and never dish any out :)

Otherwise the moment you turn back, the other ST falls.

Glad you're warming to the Manul.

I've been playing around with the SNS, trying to make something work. Coming off the MAD IIC-D (2x Gauss+ECM) I went for the D variant, and came up with a nice ECM sniper that's fast enough to excel in SQ NASCAR. It's been hard going from a tanky assault like the MAD to the squish-box SNS, but again, it's nice to be fast enough to trade a bit and still keep up with the herd.

Twin Gauss on the SNS leaves little room for anything else, especially mistakes. Positioning is essential, ammo is priceless, stick and move. My stats might be better with another mech, but I'm enjoying the challenge.
