You forget/ignore Clan has the higher damage/alpha potential.

And if you are running SSRMs, well, that's your own fault.

Carry on.

Really then nerf the stormcrows and huntsmen.. sounds good..

Or better still fix the medium mechs to be on par with the bushwackers and stormcrows...

In the event scouting meta when dropping with randoms it is often not efficient to go for legs. Typically 1-2 players will have streaks/ATMs or other garbage or simply not willing/able to listen and go for legs. In this scenario, telling them to go for legs and then going for legs yourself often results in half of the team's damage hitting the legs and half of it hitting the torsos. This results in Bushwhackers being very strong vs random PUG lineups.

Of course, the above is not a sufficient reason to nerf a mech and ppl should just git gud. A team of properly outfitted and coordinated clan mechs will not have any problems handling bushies. Also 100 matchscore is pretty easy to get even if your team gets stomped so its not really a problem even during the event.

Targeting the leg is decent conventional wisdom. But in this case I believe it is incorrect. With a Bushy able to take 100 damage before it's leg ceases to function and 200 damage before it dies you more quickly disable and destroy the bushwacker by targeting other areas. That's not to mention the fact that if you target the legs with C-SRMS you're sending about half your damage into the dirt.

70 armor+30 structur an each leg,
54+21 on each arm,
73+30 on each sidetorso,
97+42 on the center.

Standart engine & ams let me tank some enemys to let my teammates and me kill them in some scouting matches yesterday in my is account. The bsw is tanky as a heavy.
But lots of people dont shoot for legs, two enemys one with red legs, one with a single orange leg, but my last teammate get killed by trying to kill them through their centerarmor. Posted Image

Believe as you will...however approaching this as merely a static math problem isn’t going to help you. The legs are by far the easiest thing to isolate on the Bushie. It’s not that hard to get the first leg off and once that’s done, the second leg is nearly immediately going to be gone as well...if your group has any focused fire at all. The torsos can be tricky, as the CT isn’t easy to get if your opponent knows how to torso twist and the side torsos can be shielded if you get one side opened up (again by torso twisting). I survived a 4-0 match yesterday (Is v. Is) at 30% with all my torsos not only open, but orange or red on structure...and my legs still at yellow armor. I got focused, but by twisting the bushie can tank a lot of damage and my buddies (who all survived at 92%+) went legs and got their bushies and griffins down before they could get me down. Sure, if you are Clan and running streaks, ATMs or srms (without art.) you are going to have a harder time getting legs off. However, if you brought those weapons to a match that was likely going to be against 4 Bushwackers (maybe in combination with ecm griffins even) you really didn’t prepare to win anyway...maybe score good damage sure...but not to kill and not to win.

BSWs side profiles are OP tbh, shield with dead side and the enemy can either choose to deal half damage to the CT or try to aim the minute CT hitbox. Considering that scouting is full of splat mechs a BSW is definitely one of the more trickier mechs to take out.

Considering that Bushwackers have over 100 HP per leg and torsos so armored and with hitboxes so good that all people can say is "aim for the legs" I can see pretty clearly why no one is putting up any threads saying to nerf the Huntsman or Stormcrow that are easily smashed by them in brawling situations.

Anyway OP, the answer to beating Bushwackers is to basically not fight them. Instead you kite them. Swap out any weapons that have less than 400m range, don't drive anything under 95KPH, pray that the enemy doesn't just switch right on over to Wolfhounds one match after you kite them, and attempt to wear them down at range, running away after each shot. Then afterwards requeue and get ownzoned by Wolfhounds.

I've had people say that you "should not aim the legs, aim the CT".

LOL... Yeah cause the way SRMs spread on a Bushie... That's really going to work.

To be fair, with the current state of spread on clan SRMs most people are getting about as many SRMs onto a Bushwacker's leg as they get onto one of their CTs, difference being that the ones that miss the leg hit the dirt and the ones that hit the CT hit the side torsos.

RIP SRMs. Team has swapped from using SRMs to just high laser alpha Stormcrow kiting, can't torso twist beams off of legs, still takes 4 alphas to kill one Bushwacker though, 3 if you're being a pro and swap over to the other leg mid burn as soon as one dies.

Aim just below the hip/torso and you'll land just about all the SRMs on a Bushie, from a Bushie.

Even on a HMN etc you will land the vast majority. On run the SRM one side/cMPL other on a HNM. The convergence then is excellent ;)

If you aim near the feet then you're gonna put a bunch of them into the dirt every time.

Full stop, Running a standard engine in a Bushy is not advisable, you lose too much by taking it, much better to run XL or LFE....

I generally agree but if shooting legs on a medium mech is the answer that, in itself, says something about its OP-ness. See: Assassin.

Clan pugs not sleeping through a 4-0 stomp of IS? THIS CANNOT BE. NERF NERF NERF.

Dear PGI. I used to be sooooo good at Clan. When clan first came out I was more skillful than I have ever been at a video game ever. I was just soooo good in my golden Timberwolf, but NOW, I am less skillfull. I was even more skillful than when I was a rogue in vanilla Wow. I was even more skillful than when I told my friend he wasn't allowed to pick Oddjob in Golden eye because I was only allowed to pick Oddjob in Golden eye. Games are hard now. This is not my fault. Please fix this game and give me my skill back.

Take a crow with streaks, point legs away from the enemy, keep them at 350 meters where their SRMs are useless, streak them to death
